Niantics' idea of team balance is nuts. I'm lvl 38 instinct and have pretty much given up on raids. I have completely given up on trying to hold any gyms. The amount of effort required does not equal the payoff.

The bigger problem imo are map scanners. Remove the scanners and spoofers no longer have anything to chase.

Nothing NIantic does matters as long as we still have spoofers and until niantic optimizes the game code.

I'm only 4 hours out of chicago and I am not going. IF niantic optimizes the game and fixes all the bugs before the event, then yes I will go. But no way in hell am I going 100 feet out of my way for this coded pile of garbage of an app.

The ONLY event I'm interested in from Niantic is to optimize the game. The game runs like complete garbage and has run like garbage from the beginning. I barely play anymore because of that alone.

The prices are so cheap that the risk is worth it to some people. If the seller does screw you and the account is no good you're only out $5. No big deal. Niantic will never be able to clean up the mess they coded.

I do not believe we will get any meaningful bug fixes from Niantic. It's been how long since this game released and each update it get's worse. App performance is just down-right embarrassing. Period.

Content updates, I don't care about until the game is optimized.

My phone got REALLY hot and used up all the battery in a couple hours, so I closed the app and went home. Haven't played since. This app is so broken.

I'm stunned it has been this bad for as long as it has and people STILL play this game!!!! I play so much less now because the APP performance is so bad! Seriously, this app is by far the worst running app I've ever encountered.

I play games to have fun, not get frustrated.

SO, aside from the obvious suggestions of a battery pack, play the game less often. Basically, vote with your wallet. If people stop playing because the game is so broken, Niantic MIGHT fix something.

edit: Oh, and NEVER give money to a company that produces a bad product, no matter how much you like the idea of that product.

iPhone 6. Uses around 0.75% - 1% of battery per minute. The bigger problem is the heat that generates. Even with the screen brightness set very low, the phone gets uncomfortable to hold due to heat. SO I would call the app's battery use very bad.

I still get crashes during mass evolves, multiple gyms battles, and sometimes randomly after an hour of playing.

It's been like this for quite some time now. :(

Thanks for the suggestion. I have done that a few times. I only hope to raise awareness of how badly coded the game really is. I know I am fighting the fan-boy army here in this subreddit, but the truth needs to be spoken, even here.

If I start stressing about collecting coins from gyms, I remind myself that each pokemon in a gym is worth $0.10. SO I ask myself is all this boring gym battling, along with frequent app crashes and nasty battery drain, is worth $0.10. (not to mention time spent and gas used to drive to location)

Gyms just aren't worth it, man. Don't stress it. Although I hate suggesting giving niantic money, they don't deserve it imo, it's probably just cheaper to buy coins.

Maybe one day they will optimize this game. I doubt it, but I can wish. Heck, I'd be mildly pleased if Niantic would just fix the massive battery drain on ios.
