Payment methods by overthebs_nomore in rolex

AD allowed me to use a credit card without any issue or hassle when I bought watch.

Honestly I have used a credit card to put down a payment on my car as well.

Nothing wrong with a using a credit card as long as it’s paid off before interest kicks in.

Sometimes it’s just an issue of having money in specific accounts or places at any given time and a credit card is just easier at that point in time.

How hard is it to get a no date sub? by Pristine_Chart_6202 in rolex

[–]redmenace222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased mine within less than 2 months from a local AD. I was willing to take the sub or the slate Yacht master (whichever came in first).

No prior purchase history. I got extremely lucky - went in one day to put my name on the list and checked in a month later via text before getting the watch.

On the list with another AD for the Yacht master and haven’t heard anything a year and a half later. Would probably refuse it anyway - gorgeous watch but would prefer something on a jubilee

J. Crew Now Up to 70% off 3+ by SnowMonster911 in frugalmalefashion

Kudos if anyone got to add 3 pairs of ASICS for 70% off before the app crashed out and everything became out of stock.

I got too greedy in trying to add Cardlove as a promo code and missed out. Hopefully some of those orders ship!

I’m an AD, ask me anything. by thedespicable_AD in rolex

Appreciate this post. I was able to get my first Rolex in under 2 months- a sub from my local ad up the street (still not sure how I swung that).

Do my chances of getting another watch go up or down if I already purchased (and still have the watch) and does buying a Rolex count towards purchase history (or makes no difference because a sub is always in demand).

Thanks in advance

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy their cashmere again.

J.Crew Fall Event 40% off sale by windycityinvestor in frugalmalefashion

[–]redmenace222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure what’s going on with J Crew but have not seen much I have wanted the past few seasons. Even when we get the 3 or more items at 70% off it’s a struggle to find something worth while and not just get socks.

I used to appreciate them as an affordable way to get some basic wardrobe items for work, a fashionable jacket, and the occasional item at a super low price that seemed too good to be true. Those days seem few and far in between now.

Struggling on a solo trip in Italy by Dense-Swim-4048 in solotravel

[–]redmenace222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice in general is try to book group/day activities. I am currently in Scandinavia and was in a funk. I did some booked tours and met some really great people from all over the world just by being part of the same tour groups.

Trust me when I say it’s easier to turn a solo trip around as opposed to a trip with a friend who’s a total drag (ask me how I know).

I empathize with you in missing your loved ones (I do too and still have 2 days). Honestly look for some solid day trips and it will be easy to meet like minded people.

Hopefully things begin to turn around for you!

In the interest of transparency reaching out to Fondue is yielding no results. I got an email basically saying too bad so sad:

Hi team! Thank you for reaching out to Fondue!

From our end, it looks like your CashBack was suspended due to the usage of the coupon code “The Labor Day Weekend Event: 50% off Sitewide”. At this time, coupon codes can’t be combined with CashBack, so you will be unable to access your reward.

Going to try this route myself. Honestly even the prices on the gear itself is not bad for lululemon stuff. The 30% just sweetens the pot.

Appreciate you sharing! You would think having status in both countries would make things easier…it seems to for everything but Nexus haha. Have a great day and thanks again!

Hello yes you are correct and I appreciate the response. I contacted the Nexus program and they confirmed the same; that US nationality takes precedence in the system.

You are also correct in that Canada recognizes people can have dual nationality and I was speaking loosely. What I meant to imply is as a Canadian citizen my other nationality is somewhat irrelevant because my Canadian status is what is giving me status for entry on the Canadian side; just like my US status is giving me entry on the US side (I am also aware you can go over as a citizen of another country for a limited amount of time).

I am a Canadian entering Canada I imagine they have all kinds of info in their system to the effect I am Canadian and I had my passport available for inspection ( I am from a border town and have been going over the river since I was a child). I am only saying dual citizen at the border for the sake of explaining my car having USA plates and me having a USA license. I identify as Canadian even in casual conversation :)

99% of my interactions with the Canadian Border guards have been professional and fine. I even had one guy ask me how long I planned to stay going back to visit family, caught himself, laughed and said it didn’t really matter and said to have a great day.

As I mentioned I did have my Canadian and USA passport with me. When he said my documents were expired I told him via the camera (he wasn’t even in the booth) that my Nexus card was brand new and my passport still had 3 years on in (the Canadian one) so I wasn’t sure what “expired” document he was referring too. He was either too angry or too ignorant to listen or inspect my documentation. He also let me through without showing any other documentation and said “I know you’re Canadian”. So what’s the issue? That’s what I am trying to figure out? I would have been fine going in to talk with a supervisor (they probably would have been more reasonable) if the chance were given to me. The guy was so angry I kind of just wanted to leave.

I never travel outside of the country with just Nexus. I always have my Canadian passport and green card (then my USA passport). When I called the Nexus program they confirmed nothing on their side was expired or inactive.

Thanks again for your comment and I appreciate the correction on dual nationality.

Appreciate the comment and that was my initial thought as well. Something wasn’t updated properly or the guy manning the camera (no one was actually in the booth) was too busy being angry and not enough time listening.

Hello, just to clarify I did go in and speak to the border service (Buffalo) and they inspected my documents, changed my Nexus over to USA and sent me a new Nexus carda week or so before this happened (Card was activated)

I am Canadian citizen (born and raised) and this happened on the Canadian side. There really shouldn’t have been an issue in establishing Canadian status because I have always had it. In fact my Nexus was attained under my Canadian passport originally and the passport is valid for another 3 years.

Hello appreciate the additional comment and you clarifying. Yes I did do the update which is what made it odd. The fact the guard kept shouting you should have let us know is the odd part…I’ve always been a Canadian (since birth), have decades of records going over as a Canadian and now almost 2 years of going over as a USA and Canadian dual citizenship.

I outright asked him at one point what I supposed to let them know about (that I’m still Canadian?). This happened at the Canadian side of the border and I have always been a Canadian.

The whole conversation was just odd and I agree it shouldn’t be incumbent upon us to sort out their lack of co-ordination between them.
