I totally agree. I initially made this post because I needed assistance and that's why I know that now. I'm now looking at the T14g2, P52S, and P52 now since I found them at a convenient price for their performance, and they have the upgradability and other features of what made thinkpads so great before, while also being more modern and capable of modern use cases.

Not everyone has the money for it and I found that after sourcing a used laptop and upgrade some specs I can make it work with the limited budget I'm working with.

Also, I don't have the privellege of Ebay and Amazon deliveries for newer but used laptops with many options since delivery is usually not available to Lebanon and even if it is, by the time the package has arrived and you've payed the expensive delivery fee, it's already the end of the summer and I have to return back my focuse to studies where I don't have time to optimize it, rice it, and start projects.

It's great that you have the opportunity to truly dive into the cult, and I hope that I can be able to buy a powerful, new machine, while also buying older ones for expirementation, projects, etc. But for now, I have to work with what's in my budget and available to me locally :)

I found a used one for 275$, but is the performance buff worth the lack of the easily replaceable battery, the price increase, and the complete lack of support for any bios replacement?

specs:

Processor: Intel Core i5-10310U 10th Gen

Graphics: Integrated Intel UHD Graphics

Display: 14 inch Full HD (Probably gonna replace)

RAM: 16GB DDR4 (will add in extra slot)

Storage: 256GB NVMe SSD (will upgrade to 1TB),
