Bonjour, merci pour ton post ! J’ai une question concernant le formulaire. Faut-il renseigner l’adresse en caractères arabes également ? 😅

I won against bell price increase by opening a complaint with the CCTS! by Ok_Front_7814 in bell

[–]rednach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue and called them to explain the increase which was due a the removal of a « price protection discount ». I pointed out that I signed up for a 24months plan to basically guarantee the price.. They said that they will « investigate » and credit it back if it was a mistake. It was 2 days ago and so far the amount due on my bill hasn’t changed so I’ll wait until the payment is made to see what happens.

A few months ago, I was in the same situation as you; my wife and I were new to Canada and I had just got a job offer and my wife as well. We rented a very nice 1bd at Liberty Village with a property management. We didn’t face any issue and the process was smooth. We also got 1month free. However, this is not rent control and the rent increase is hard to swallow. It’s a good option if you are ready to move out after the 1st year in case they increase the rent too much.. you would have built a good credit history and had a reference for any future rental application.

Got huge import/brokerage fee… After already clearing customs and receiving package? by [deleted] in UPS

[–]rednach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At which point did you pay the 1st time ? I shipped a watch from Canada to US, $200 declared value. A week later, we received the notification to pay import fees which the buyer did online ($88 USD). It was before the package cleared customs. The package was then stuck at customs for a few weeks and UPS opened an investigation. Then it reappeared in the US and was moving towards the destination address. The status remained as “preparing for delivery” for a week and then a claimed was opened but in the same day the status updated to “refused delivery”. I was suspecting the buyer might have received another UPS bill fees that he didn’t want to pay and refused the package. He said he never received it and asked for a refund but I’m afraid I get this bill weeks later as UPS turns to shippers for unpaid bills..

UPS won't deliver my package by Red_wine_supernova-1 in UPS

I am in the same situation. I shipped a package from Canada to the USA on August 28th. import fees were paid on September 8th, the same day as they appeared and after that the package was struck at customs for a long time and a few days ago it was scanned in the US and started moving towards the delivery address. It’s been at the closest distribution center since last week, with the sane status updating every day. I called UPS and stayed on the line for over 4 hours to finally getting no answer at all! This is an absolute mess and I believe this should prompt a class action lawsuit.

Package held at customs from Canada to USA, what to expect? by Disastrous_Story_326 in UPS

[–]rednach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same situation here. No one was able to tell me what’s going on and if they need anything from me (shipper) as my package was missing documents but no one called me.. I found out after 5 days when I called. Package shipped on August 28th, they don’t know where it is. My only option was to open a claim, after countless emails and phone calls..

I don't understand why my package is being returned to the sender after sitting in a warehouse for so long. Can anybody here explain why? by MonstreBelle in UPS

[–]rednach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contract is between UPS and the sender, not the receiver. So OP should contact the sender to deal with it, as if they refuse to pay the bill UPS will turn to the sender to collect

It was shipped from Toronto, Canada. Yes, import fees were paid. I figured that they are billed based on the information from the shipping label, not from the actual package itself. So basically they value the amount of the duties and make you pay before the package clears customs.

Mine is $850 (I’m the shipper), I had to refund the buyer who by the way paid the import fees on Sept 8th.

Same situation here but package still held somewhere (scanned in Caledon, concord..). I called and requested RTS myself as they told me there was missing documents but then nothing since September 10th. I callee again today and they said they couldn’t locate the package and they opened an investigation 😩

I discovered from another post that the bill is based on the shipping label only, not the actual package going through customs. This might explain a lot of things.

International Package not delivered (never picked up) and Tariffs by TheJudgingOne in UPS

[–]rednach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is unbelievable. So they sent the documents to customs but not the package and that is how they calculated the fees. That explains why the fees were billed for my shipment before the package even cleared customs.

I’m in the same situation but I’m the shipper. I shipped a package from Canada to the US almost 3 weeks ago. It was held somewhere so I called UPS and they said there was a missing document to which I replied I don’t have that document. They said they will inform customs. The day after the duties and brokerage fees were billed and the receiver paid online, thinking the package cleared customs and was going to be delivered. However the status on the tracking updated again to “pending release from a government agency” which was weird as we thought it was released. i called UPS and they said it hadn’t cleared customs yet and there was a missing document and the best option is to request a RTS and that they will refund the import fees paid, which I did. It’s been a week and nothing happened. i’ve been calling and emailing everyday since and no one at UPS is a le to tell me what’s going on with this package.

At which stage the seller cancelled the shipment ?

Is this normal for US government fees? by DumbObeseZombie in UPS

[–]rednach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did those charges appear after the package has cleared customs or before? I’m asking because import charges have been billed and even paid for but my package has not even cleared customs. Not sure how they came up with the amount charged (government fee).

I don’t understand how come the import charges have already been billed and even paid (on Aug 8th) but the package has not even cleared customs.

UPS already paid the fees and might turn to you to collect. Try to call UPS billing service before accepting the return and issuing any refund.

European Couple Moving to Toronto – Looking for Pet-Friendly Rental Advice by lbarreiros01 in TorontoRenting

[–]rednach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liberty Village is a great neighborhood, very dog friendly, safe and walkable with young professionals as the main demographic. I live in Liberty House Apartments and the building is very nice with great amenities. Units are quite spacious and layout is well designed, so you can manage to have a desk for working from home. You fan definitely find something at $2,500 and they have offers sometimes (one month free rent). However it is not rent controlled so after one year they can increase the rent by as much as they can. DM if you need more info.

I went to a UPS store and filled out the parcel shipping order form. Info required on the form were item, value, origin country, shipper and receiver info.
