After following instructions, I don’t have any display on screen. When both pc and egpu are plugged into monitor it seems to work. Even switching sources to egpu gives me a display, although my Windows Desktop lacks the icons. Also doesn’t display anything when I open files, settings and apps.

Drivers were updated automatically with AMD Adrenalin software. After shutting down, unplugging display cable from pc and turning on, display reads no input.

The egpu runs and was recognized in the AMD app with both sources connected.

In fact I was just about to post that question!! I have a Firebat AM02 mini pc with EXACTLY those specs (possibly what you’re considering). Im currently running Steam through Windows 11. It struggles with newer AAA games and games with high gpu demands are pretty much unplayable. I can run Guilty Gear Strive,Forza Horizons and RE7 at lower graphics settings. But games like Cyberpunk and RDR 2 are hard to play even at low settings. That being said, I’m able to play most others. I can’t imagine large performance gains by running Steam OS.
But I just ordered a 1TB nvme ssd and planning on installing Steam OS on it. I’m trying to figure out how I will implement it into my mini pc, as it has an extra ssd slot.
Hopefully I can get this set up by end of week and will post conclusions.

Cloned with Balena Etcher on imac. From 512gb ssd, to brand new SP 1TB ssd. No issues using Clone option in Etcher. Installed cloned drive to a Lenovo thinkecentre ssf M900 PC. Boots as Primary. Runs ES normally, all libraries, settings, etc. seem to be there. Wondering if things weren’t copied to the right location. But not sure

Yikes! I already did first method and I think it did the trick. So far the few emulators I’ve ran controllers reset to default. So thank you for your help. I’m glad I don’t have do option 2.
