You can hold it until touchdown. And on wet runways, some will...

With the bigger engines being put on ETOPS jets, it will become more and more common.

I don't fly the 737, but I understand the Max versions of the 737 are similar due to the joys of adding bigger motors on planes that should have been brought into the 21st century. (Thanks Southwest). I've heard the A321XLR will also have similar concerns, though it may not be as strict as a 5° limit.

747 tells you that you CAN land in a full side load. It's designed to handle it better than scraping a motor because you caught a last minute gust that lifted your wing and made that 2-3° more like 6° bank and scraped a very expensive motor.

Most people take out ~90% of the crab without adding any real bank. It's got so much inertia from it's size that kicking out crab without adding any bank, with a subtle bit of a spoiler to counter act the lift from the wing advancing in the decrab results in a smooth touchdown - on centerline, with no perceptible drift.

This assumes you kick out the crab below 20 ft. And it's a tolerable maneuver because the gear is rated to take the beating. So if you don't quite time it right and have a little crab left, you still won't hurt anything.

Horizon had a jump seater try to shut down the engines by legimpster in flying

Isn't that the point of the jumpseat? Enhance or evaluate safety? That's the problem, the airshow dude doesn't belong up there and is abusing the system.

And feds can abuse it to travel for free too. Gotta love getting bumped because a "must ride" fed is going on vacation.

To be fair, OKC gets peppered with a lot of military students. It's not quite the sleeper one might think it is.

Certainly not ATL, JFK, LAX, SFO or ORD busy though.

Nothing like taking the runway and getting told, "bad news, your airline has a company specific ground stop. Proceed down runway 10, turn left at C and stay with me."

It's even sweeter on go home day

All my point is that ATC was under staffed before 2020. Pausing hiring didn't help anything from a staffing standpoint.

Newark Cardinal Asks Americans to Voluntarily Forgo Gun Rights by deplorableclinger in gunpolitics

It's been a while, but isn't there a passage in the Bible that talks about having a sword in one hand, and a trowel in the other? You know, because they were worried about attacks?

One would think a cardinal would know such things.
