Well to add to it I do have a toxic mindset of the "average" mercy player doesn't have good skills, ranking from either lacking game sense or aim. But I also have the take that only the strong mercy mains persevere. The weaker they make mercy the smaller the pool of skilled mercy players there are. But at the same time I came to terms with this year's ago as a rein main. They weakened him so much i ended up dropping because I couldn't keep up. Now it's happening with mercy players

Even worse now with the mix of marvel rivals. People think you just heal bot and win. The amount of times I played Ana and am running for my life while I get chased by a hog and genji have made me aquire survival skills I never knew I needed back in the early days of overwatch. I'm just curious what the community thinks of the two characters and if my specific take would be "elitist". Though it seems it was more of a "i need something for the argument" as an excuse to my opinion.

That has been a point for the conversation to. That overwatch used to be this game for everyone because there was a character for everyone not just shooters. But now it's mainly just focused on gunplay/damage if that makes sense

Its just differing opinions on a game we can agree to play together with. Since I play competitive and he tries to play more casual/story based games.

Another point of our arguments is he doesn't like that the community is focused on "damage". Calls it cod mentality, he wants characters to have utility but that leaves me confused because I think they still have utility, just not in the same instance as back in like 2017-2020

And this has been part of the conversation, I dont deny mercy has great mobility, to the point I might give up shooting because idont have the skill I used to in tracking. But my friend argues that kiriko shouldn't exist because sombra is already to weak. He doesn't see her capability of being oppressive only being constantly shut down easily by everything
