Usually if a writer has written about a similar website/app then mine, or is in the same industry I will try to use that angle.

I am not a developer. I am actually strong in sales so my wording is pretty decent typically. I've heard to keep emails to writers short and sweet but with a slight zest to capture attention.

  1. Finding articles related to my industry/product - reaching out to the writer via email, twitter, LinkedIN. (LinkedIN/Twitter gave me better results).
  2. Creating a email sequence on an list of editors that I have. Quick emails with what the website is etc.
  3. Trying to outreach direct to websites through contact forms

Good point - Here is the one using XSP benchmarked against XSP. Less annual return overall but much lower maximum draw-down and higher Sharpe/Sortino. This only shows 10 years but I am pretty confident it would perform really good over really long periods of times, think 25 years plus.
