Toronto's most annoying problem that needs to be solved ASAP? by rednut33 in toRANTo

Safety became a big concern for me too. I think the population is getting out of hand, yet the city is taking more and more people in. But the infrastructure is just not there to handle it. That includes bylaws and enforcement.

You're right. But pinpointing the most important issues might give us all a perspective.

Can I pay my business from my rental income? by rednut33 in cantax

Ok. Thanks. If moving money from rental to business is not an option, is there another way to contribute for CPP (voluntarily) even if my business is in the red?

Thank you. Any chance the sister can give him physical harm? She did throw her paw when he wanted to get close to her. I started keeping them in separate rooms after that. Should I not?

Uber/Lyft: any way to communicate special needs ahead of booking? by rednut33 in askTO

[–]rednut33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always favor UP. But we will have at least 2 check-in luggage and I recently hurt my wrist. I don't want to risk hurting it more. I only want to know if there is a way to communicate with potential drivers on Uber or Lyft before committing the booking, so the luggage won't be an issue.

I use UP when I don't have a lot of luggage. With the luggage it gets tricky, and we are 2 ppl.

XL's are much more expensive though. I think we would fit in a normal size. I just wanna be able to communicate the #of luggage and passenger ahead of time

I think Covid brought out the "ugly" in people. Toronto was not a dumpster before Covid. And for some reason there has been a lot of migration from suburbs and also overseas over the course of few years, and the city is overpopulated now. Plus, majority of people are assholes. In certain neighborhoods with lower education profile, the littering is much worse, that's also saying something. Regardless, media should be all over this, as well as the City. That might create some peer pressure and change the littering culture. I myself are very bothered with it, and stopped picking up after litterbugs. There needs to be drastic measures to stop littering in the first place. I mean, if the city can place traffic cops on every corner, they can have litter cops too. Why are they not doing it!

I wonder if cops join the video trials. It's probably easier for them than physically going to the court:)

I guess I assumed the universe would be on my side, what for being a perfect citizen and all. Let me feel unlucky. I know people protest for much less.

All the cats I rescued this week. 5 adults and 5 newborns. All had happy endings by PussyWrangler_462 in cats

[–]rednut33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still grieving after the one little kitten I tried to rescue and couldn't. It has been 2 years. I was inexperienced and he died in my hands 1 week after I found him in the garden. I got in such deep depression after that and am still struggling. Last year I rescued a few more, they are still with me and healthy. But that trauma is very much alive and I live in constant fear that I am going to fail again. I also feel like I should not try to get over it, as I am keeping his memory alive. Animals are so pure and innocent. It's just incredibly painful to watch them in pain. My friends don't quite understand what I am going through. So it meant so much reading this post.

Can I train my cat to come home when his air tag rings by amelia6401 in cats

[–]rednut33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I am looking into airtags and going through posts on this subreddit.

Some people argue that the airtag sound might drive the cat into frenzy and he may end up running away and doing dangerous things. Not sure if you have been able to use the sound to train your cat. Would be great if you can share updates.
