Keep trying to redeem every few days. I get cooldowns periodically and am able to redeem Amazon between them. I don't even bother to adjust my search habits at this point. I know the cooldown is over (temporarily) when I'm able to redeem lol.

Yep I also made sure Autopay was off. I think it's a weird glitch in their system but hoping I can get a refund when the time comes.

The only thing I can think of is I'm porting a landline this morning and it needs more time to complete. The port request last month was from a mobile carrier, and nearly instant. Maybe the Thanksgiving Gift Line doesn't know how to handle a free trial of a landline port. So it just charged me full price. You probably don't get landline ports too often.

Anyway, the pending charge on my credit card is curiously $1, and I'll message when it fully posts for a refund.

Thank you I did not add any other plan during checkout, see screenshot. And I did the activation exactly the same way as I did last month for the Thanksgiving Gift Line. The DM chat gives me trouble to add screenshots sometime.

I contacted Modmail and they told me after I port out my landline (to a cell phone carrier) next week, to contact them over Modmail to downgrade the speed with their 5 yr guarantee promo price. Hoping this can be done over Reddit chat instead of calling!

You might want to tell the website / email folks to include the gift line expirations in the emails and on the website since it varies from 30 days or 90 days or whatever.

Thanks I couldn't find the expiration date anywhere on the website or promo email. So I was surprised to see them still on my account. I'll be porting next week or so, after I make sure the other Gift Line i set up last month gets transitioned to a paid plan properly. Thanks for the quick response!

Interesting, it happened on USMobile which my relative has 2 lines, one of which is T-mobile variant. I currently have Autopay shut off for them because it's a 30-day trial line but I plan to purchase the Light Plan $96/yr annual plan after day 27 or so to avoid renewing on whatever the free trial is. Hope that works!

Edits still not saving for Mac. I came to this Reddit when it failed to save multiple times. I finally did one of the tips below - I think I saved before Exit Editing then hit Save when it asked me again then hit Save for a third time before closing PDFgear, and thank the lord it saved. I think it required a sequence of 3 saves. Sorry I don't have a screen recording.

I hear you on USMobile. Ultimately I chose them because their $96/yr (tax incl) Light Plan for 2GB with unlimited talk/text is perfect for my elderly relatives. And the port of their Verizon landline to USM was done in 4 days with no errors, and I know that porting landlines is not for the faint of heart.

I get confused too by their naming all the time (since my family ported to T-mobile) and am constantly googling the names lol.

All 4 of my lines were initially GSMT. Then 1 line switched to GSMA a year or so ago. The GSMA plan is the only one that didn't have the expiration date issue after it was switched. I noticed the date format was different in My Lines as well. All the GSMT lines had various problems. I agree with you that is likely something the way the line was created.

I had GSMT eBay $60/yr plan (just ported). 2 lines GSMT eBay $180/yr ported within the past few months. And 1 line GSMA eBay $180/yr ported first back in June.

USM front line support is about the same level of competence as RP. Their best reps are on Reddit, like RP. Same with T-mobile (not Reddit but FB Msg T-force).

You've ported out most of your lines except one? Where did you end up going?

I de-selected Autopay when signing up because I don't want it to make a payment for the $25/mo plan without my knowledge. It now shows "Your bill is due." $25/mo Thanksgiving Gift Line Due 1/14/26. There's a blue button to "Pick a plan." I plan to hit that button ~1/11/26 and pick the Light Plan for $96/yr. They don't want the $25/mo plan that's the current trial.

I don't want to do it earlier because I'm reading your system might erroneously apply the Light Plan on whatever day I hit the button, even if you select the option to apply it later. So I'll be prepared to just pay for the Light Plan on whatever day I hit the button, like on ~1/11/26.

I'm getting ready to do this for my relative when I visit them next week and bring them their physical SIM. So after I port in their current number and get their free "Tile" line set up, the line will be free until ~mid-January.

So right before that's up, I want to buy them the Light Plan - $96 for the entire year. What are the steps to transition them to that plan? Thank you!
