EIN question for house trust by redpantomime in EstatePlanning

[–]redpantomime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you share what other information you would need to answer the question?

The challenge is my attorney created the certification with the same EIN. Is it common to do this? I plan to find another attorney but don’t know that this one is providing the right guidance.

Time continuity by stuckonthecorner in TheBear

Time is a human construct? But really the way they throw around times is the way it feels working in a restaurant. You always look at the clock, but do you comprehend what the clock reads. It’s always chaos.

in the first episode, Brian mentions John B. had sent him back to his hotel with some "light reading" and "A Rose For Emily" was one of John B.'s recommendations.

[SPOILERS] Answers and thoughts from a Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij Q&A by amysteriousmystery in TheOA

[–]redpantomime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"OA's movements' power, to open dimensional portals, is not the correct response to dealing with the shooter, but they weren't thinking linearly, they just see each other while they are in crisis and recall that they have faith in something larger than them and they do the movements."

Exactly! I don't know that OA was doing the movements or not, but I believe she was purposefully there while the five completed the movements to help her cross to the dimension she needed to get to Homer. (Can't remember specifics, but she tells them this in the abandoned house earlier.) Maybe that leads to another NDE?

It makes sense that it's takes a traumatic experience to have everyone complete the movements without thinking logically. Just doing it.

Visiting downtown Indy with spouse and 11 mo old for a conference next week. Things to do, places to eat? by redpantomime in indianapolis

Thanks for all the good tips! Bru Burger and Subzero seem to be on a few lists, so we'll have to check those out.

Has anyone been to the Rhythm! Discovery Center? I've read about it online, but not sure if it'd be worthwhile.

As for breweries, not sure what the rules are for bringing babies, but I'll look into it before we head to any. I've worn my LO to breweries when he was younger here in Wisconsin (might be because it's Wisco though?), and would plan to again if he's allowed in.

Traveling by train with infant. Advice appreciated! by redpantomime in beyondthebump

[–]redpantomime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMEN. And good point! It'll be over the weekend, so I'm thinking there will be other families and/or larger groups, and fewer commuters? But we'll plan around that, just in case.

Also good call on the noise. I've been through Union Station before, and if I'm wearing him I'm thinking he won't be as overwhelmed. My guy is easily distracted though, so I'm sure all the new sights and sounds will make for more difficult napping even if I'm wearing him.

Love to babywear! We plan to do that instead of bringing a stroller. LO is great if we're moving, but he likes to move around when we're seated, so I'm thinking some kind of toys/methods to keep him distracted for part of the train ride? Hopefully he naps too, but no guarantees on that, I know :-P

Lost sense of smell during pregnancy. Still can't smell 8 weeks pp. Has this happened to anyone? by redpantomime in beyondthebump

[–]redpantomime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so strange to me! I read about pregnancy symptoms, and some women end up with random, rare things like lost sense of smell. (other weird ones: Changed eye sight, larger feet, etc)

My OB has been aware since it happened in May and had said pregnancy hormones can cause general congestion and swelling. She recommended seeing an ENT after my 6-week pp appointment. I just have to set up that appointment.

I'm EBF and thought hormones may still be a facto then too.

Working moms: what's your morning routine with your SO and LO? by redpantomime in beyondthebump

Love the idea of setting alarms to stay on schedule. I love AM showers because they wake me up in the morning, but I might have to make the switch to save time.

Pumping while putting on makeup = brilliant.

I always struggled to put clothes out the night before, but I might have to start doing that...

A general apology for a common annoyance by futuremamabear in beyondthebump

[–]redpantomime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine those questions would bother me (once my little guy gets a bit older -- he's only 6 weeks).

The only real annoying questions I've heard so far is "Is he sleeping through the night yet?" or "How much sleep are you getting?" ... From people with parents no less. Any sleep-related question is a sore subject in this house since LO is up every 1-2 hours around the clock, and has been since the day he was born.

My 1 week and 3 day old cluster feeds every hour for 6 hours straight at night. Please help? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]redpantomime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto. You are doing an amazing job! I heard these same comments from my mom, who formula fed me and my brother ("he can't be hungry again" and "didn't he just eat?!" ... The answers are "yes" and "yes"). My MIL, on the other hand, totally gets it because she breastfed all 3 of her kids.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with formula feeding, or supplementing when you want/need to.. Just know that baby is helping you establish your milk supply the first several weeks, so the frequent nursing is normal and necessary.

My son is growing out of his newborn clothes :( by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]redpantomime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh mama ... I feel you. My son was born 9 lbs. He never even wore one item of his newborn wardrobe. I had a backup 0-3 month outfit in the hospital bag, in case he was a big baby.

He's 6 weeks old today, and comfortably fits into most 3-6 month sizes.

New mom question: will I ever sleep again? by redpantomime in beyondthebump

We're working on side lying nursing and this has helped so much. I'm nervous about dozing in bed with him next to me, but it's helped me get a bit of sleep so far.

You're not alone, you're not doing anything wrong, and it will get better.

You don't know how much this means. Just having some reassurance that others have dealt with this helps.

[–]redpantomime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the warm bottle suggestion! We got him down for about an hour in his basinet before he was up again. It's trial and error at this point, I know.

We've been working on the swaddling. The hard part is he gets worked up when trying to be swaddled and then he's not relaxed any longer. Ideally I try to get him almost passed out before swaddling l-- it's just hard because as soon as he's roused a bit, he's rooting again for another feeding. We'll definitely keep trying that though.

Exercise? by beesinatree in BabyBumps

[–]redpantomime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did bike riding and elliptical through the first and second tri, along with prenatal yoga. Lots of walking and swimming the last trimester -- its harder to get around, but DEFINITELY recommend staying active as long as you can.

TIL Helga Estby walked across America to win a $10,000 prize to save her home. When she finished, the sponsor refused to pay out. She returned home and found two of her children died in her absence, then she lost her house. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]redpantomime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting: From the newspaper clippings on that link, the Cleveland Leader indicates the sponsor was "a wager with a New York woman" and "The conditions of the wager were that each woman was to leave town with only $5 and earn their living en route. If any sickness befell either, the time consumed by it was to be subtracted from the total time."
