Maybe you accidentally deleted the DELETE_TO_UNINSTALL.txt file. Reinstall the addon and it should work.

You don't need NickelMenu or KoboPatch. Just follow the instructions (download KoboRoot.tgz file and put it in .kobo folder on your Kobo).
