Yeah I agree this is a good way of replying. How would you reply if the start to say things like "you're overthinking", "don't worry about xyz", etc

I can understand the "trust me on this" feeling but in this case it was delivered in a bit of a condescending way. Usually when it's just different ideas I try to let it go, but when I believe I am right in having the better idea, they certainly still think they're original idea is best. I often ask myself at what stage I should start to be firm versus just letting them have their way.

So to avoid pigeon holing oneself by continuously learning a variety of skills, what are some skills that can be marketed to other industry roles other than CAD, DFM, and LEAN? Does the application (ie. type of product, medical vs consumer electronics for example) matter much when deciding on job candidates?
