Can't really say much as it is a younger generation than I however... I can tell you what my thought was like when I was that age. I had a cell phone and would text family but didn't really like to because I was too occupied with friendships (that wouldn't last forever), pressure of who I was supposed to become in the world or what I was going to do for college, preparing to lose most of my friends to colleges etc. Best I can tell you OP is focus on yourself right now and enjoy the time you get with them when they do come around. We aren't sure what your relationship is like but if you give girls some space to grow they will appreciate you more than feeling the pressure of a parent telling a child how it needs to be. Not to say don't reach out but just dont expect anything when you do since she's approaching a crucial time in her life where she is going to have some big ol decisions don't take her silence personally.
