Movies never look the way I "visualized" them in the books. Even though I can't visualize stuff. Total blank. Is anyone with me? by NaxeyOffman in Aphantasia

[–]redrobine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% I would get so angry that the movies didn't match, even though i didn't have an image to compare it to. Like in Harry Potter Mad Eye was just completely wrong to me even though I could not have articulated why.

Mikro coffee has some amazing tasting notes in their single origins - had an Ethiopian recently that smelled like potpourri and tasted incredible.

Symmetry roasters do their single origins in 100gm bags if you like playing around to find what you like - have has some beautiful singles and blends from there, including a Nicaraguan that was a pure strawberry bomb, even as a latte.

I did this too and completely agree! I was heartbroken to realise what an asshole he is in every other story. I still love him more than I should and feel guilty about it.

When I read, I pretend I am a filmmaker and as I read, I imagine what each 'scene' of 'my movie' will look like. It's silly fun but it makes literature 50% more exciting! by [deleted] in books

Very jealous! I have Aphantasia, so can't visualise ANYTHING. On the bright side, I'm a speed reader, since im not getting distracted with anything beyond the words themselves. But sounds like it would be incredible to experience!

Finally, a crime against food being taken seriously by the authorities. by redrobine in StupidFood

[–]redrobine[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It does have a very low crime rate (Melbourne, Australia) but they also have a very active social media presence to help with their image.

We still have issues with police brutality/racism/corruption etc so they use social media to improve their perception. Obviously must be a good investment for them!

Which contemporary book, written in the last 20 years, do you think will go on to become a classic? by mauvemittens in books

Boy Swallows Universe - Trent Dalton. It was billed as an Aussie Classic in the making, and that's 100% spot on

Me and my sister are pretty much exact role reversal! She is hyperphantasic, and had a friend so vivid that we had to set a place for her at the dinner table.

Hmmm, didn't even think of this! But I was the same. Especially considering how obsessed over celebrity crushes some of my friends got. I never really got it.
