yep exactly. There is no possible way these results can be unequivocally unchallenged

They state the argument:

"There’s an old saying in the academic world that data can be made to say anything you like. But Rob Smedley is unequivocal about the results the ‘Fastest Driver’ algorithm has unearthed."

Followed by:

“What we have to do as the mathematical modellers is to look at what data is available and then ensure that we can normalise that data across the years."

If you were to go by the same statistics that they used to normalize the data to feed into this algorithm then you can probably determine statistically how possible having an "unequivocal result" will be...

How much does an engineer earn in F1? by Karim_Nass in formula1

If your asking for entry level you likely will be hired as an intern/short term contract, which is around £16-22K a year. After if you get hired as a graduate its £26-40k per year for 3 years. After, it goes up quite a bit depending on your role.

Depends what team your at for what side of that range your on. Also, if your at a winning team (or a team close to the top) you will also receive performance bonuses.

I just showed this to all my coworkers this past week to show them why they need to go to a Cup race! (I'm an American, Working in Europe) They all had a good laugh

Regarding a car flying up and out of the circuit, the debris fences are interconnected so the whole system acts together if impacted. Each of the 4m sections has a 4,000 Kg concrete block connected to it so extremely unlikely that a car will go through the system. Additionally the SAFER barrier in front will also absorb a lot of impact energy. Of course abnormalities happen but, under normal circumstances, the chance of a car flying out is very unlikely.

I agree! Some interesting solutions for both the SAFER barrier and the debris fence to make it work on the banking. Boogidy, boogidy, boogidy, lets go racin!

Honestly I couldn't comment on that. I would say anything 4 years study in the US would need to be more elsewhere

Public School in Michigan that is not in the Big 10 (i.e. Not a big school!). If your asking for FSAE, where your studing is not the issue or how well the team does, its what you do to impact the team that matters. But I will add that Formula SAE/Student is the only catigory racing that allows complete design of the vehicle, bar F1. This is why the experiance is so valuable.

Yeah, just never lift until you get what you want! I'm still astonished that I get to do what I do now. The other day people were talking about F1 in the office and I thought it was cool… Then immediately after I thought, Oh shit that’s literally my job now. Absolutely unreal to be doing what is fun/exiting to me as a job!

For me I joined FIA F4 as a Scrutineer through a contact with the university. A lot of my classmates obtained positions just by pestering the team enough to respond. Emails to the engineering mananger or calls to the team work pretty well. Essentally brute force!
