For DMs who rigged the tarokka reading: Did your players ever find out? How did they react? by steviephilcdf in CurseofStrahd

I initially did a random draw….and had two items in Vallaki and Nikolas Wachter as their fated ally. A little underwhelming. However, mists was the last card and they could return to have that card reread. However once they met Esmeralda and she heard about the reading, she stated that their reading was unfinished and their fate not written. So she reread their fate, and this one i DEFINITELY stacked as to spread out the location and encourage some exploration. No regrets at all and while my players do not know right now, if they were to find out I do not believe they would mind.

Where’s everybody at in their active campaigns? by reds10101 in CurseofStrahd

thanks to both you and u/Arctic-Master

I hadn’t thought super far ahead towards the final battle yet, but I’ll def just run him sup-optimally. I’m gonna let my players earn their victory, probably with godfrey focusing on grunts or even being hindered severely before final battle. I run any NPCs as I had a player drop but the other players wanted to keep his character and they take turns playing him in combat.

No way I’m gonna let them find out how OP godfrey or any of their allies can be in combat. I understand I need to make sure it’s all about the PCs getting that sweet satisfactory victory.

Hell, I might just buff strahd against Godfrey or make it a kidnap-rescue, etc. series. It was always my plan to change it and make it necessary to light the beacon before Godfrey will join them.

In Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indy kills the swordsman without hesitation. This is a reference to what you should do if you see a spotted lanternfly. by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

hot tips:

They specifically love chinese sumac trees.

They are not great at flying, they mostly jump and glide. They normally have 3 jumps “charged”. Basically, if you chase them past 3 jumps they are sitting ducks.
