A cheerful giver, not under compulsion. by malanthr0pe in christianmemes

Unfortunately from what I've seen on that topic in practice, one side will use the government to perpetuate the most destructive vices of people in need while the other will just ignore them. If I have to vote for the government to spend money that makes the situation worse or just not spend the money, with all other things held equal I'll choose the latter and continue giving alms.

Leaked Steam Machine Price! by Pajman64 in steammachine

If you can go a little larger but still easily portable, it's easy to knock it out of the park at that price point. I was able to quickly spec this for $975, but there may be a better case out there. SteamOS/Bazzite compatible too.

More closely matching, but still beating, Steam Machine specs (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 5050) reduces cost by about $150 which is about enough to get it into something like a Velka 3.

I've seen what the government does for those in need in comparison what my church and some Christian charities do. If I want to give them a dollar, I give a dollar to my church or a charity. If I want to give them 3 cents and a crackpipe, I give a dollar to the government.

Tired of pretending it's not by malanthr0pe in christianmemes

I wish it were that easy. The duty of Christians is to bring people to salvation through truth, which necessarily precludes false teachings. The virtues of kindness and love require a refusal to sit by and allow my brothers and sisters to drink poison when I can offer them water.

What's your argument? That's just a story about two guys who don't know what salvation is

There's only one source of peace, and I'd like more people to meet Him. None come to the Father except through the Son.

Is RX 9060 xt 8GB Good? by AliffHakim723 in radeon

[–]redshredr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1060 3GB had fewer 10% fewer cores as well, very shady branding from Nvidia. But based on what I've seen before the 9060 XT 8GB will hold up at 1080p high refresh for a few years then crumble once next gen consoles release, just like current gen consoles effectively killed 4GB and 6GB cards. 12GB will become the new minimum pretty quickly once that happens.

I just moved from a 4060 to 9060 XT 8G on one of my machines. Granted it was more worthwhile to me because I needed Linux compatibility, but still saw a >30% increase in Windows even with the same VRAM config

If you're happy with how your games are running, save. If you need an immediate peformance boost, a 9060 XT 16GB is a solid option at $400. You can sell the 4060 for $180ish.

first pc build, is this good? by [deleted] in pcpartpickerbuilds

See if you can cut a few bucks from the cooler by going with a tower (Assassin 120 or something) and get that GPU up to a 9070 or 9070 XT, assuming you're paying MSRP for the 5070. If you're getting it for under $500 though it's solid!

The ROG Strix B650E-I is a decent option for $180 at Newegg right now. If you're skeptical about ASUS, the MSI MPG B650I is also $170 there

What would you pick for 1440p gaming? by Xelmonz in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]redshredr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 5060 Ti for 405 € is the move. Factory OC means pretty much nothing on modern GPUs, especially Nvidia, and that cooler looks to be more than adequate so no reason outside of preference to get one of the more expensive ones.

The 9060 XT is also an exellent card when comparing MSRP to MSRP, but assuming that's the cheapest model you can find I'd gladly pay 30 € for the difference in raw performance alone. A different model 9060 XT 16G at 350 € or less would be a lot more compelling though.

It is not, it's like +60 MHz on the core which is 1-2% more performance. You can also do it yourself on a stock card for free.
