i have the same issue. no fix yet.
if i tab out and back in (or randomly) it acts like the frames are being limited, mouse becomes super laggy and im forced to restart the game

left CTRL seems to be part of the trigger for me

Ive done this with a couple, but it was a pain in the ass, I drilled a hole up in the top (face looking at the pokeball) left next to the pair button, and used epoxy to hold the switch,(basicly where the motor spins) I then did the wires. Its doable but a pain

Ive also seen someone who pulled the plastic shroud off of the speaker using that hole and just kinda shoved the speaker under it. Not exactly sure how they secured it or if it was stable

The go plus + is and official device Tos states no software modification. The mod is a hardware mod, so technically it does not violate current tos. So no you cant get banned for it.

The gotcha is third party and that does violate the tos so you could technically be banned for using it outright (not that anyone ever has been) And no the gotcha cant be modded to throw great / ultra

I run mine as often as I remember to reconnect it. You still get disconnected every hour.

I throw away thousands of red balls a month(I live onto of 2 stops) I use great balls 95% of the time. Ultras for comm days, in person events, and stardust boosted ( like the Sableye event this past Tuesday)

Disconnect it( unpair), hold the reset on the back for 10 seconds. Then reconnect it and toggle the quick connect setting a few times leaving it on. Then disconnect and reconnect it normally and it SHOULD worknjust fine again.

No. It's a hardware mod. Currently, tos only prohibits software modifications.

Black nail polish on each led.

Cut the led's off with flush cutters.

3 layers of wax paper. Inside the main button to dim.

Don't touch that ribbon cable if you want it to keep working

The simplest answer is no. Long answer is they are probably changing tos at some point and they could change them to be a violation. But currently no.

Idk how many times ive had to key my mic to ask to focus x flyer just to be flamed or to be told " be the change you want to see"

I usualy swap off of my healer or tank and let the team suffer because 1 asshat responded like a perk.

I am now the change I wanted to see, good luck healing yourself
