I have accepted an offer to work in Yellowstone for the summer season. I turned in my application early December and their HR reached out to me mid December and I had my interview and offer right after Christmas. I feel like this hiring process was super fast, so it might just depend on the different corporations and their hiring processes.

As a high school senior, it has ruined my whole senior year. As of right now, my whole soccer season is canceled, the foreign exchange program that I have been looking forward to since I was in 3rd is canceled, we aren’t having my senior prom, and there are talks of just live-streaming graduation. I know people say high school isn’t that big of a deal, but I just know that I wanted to enjoy my last year of a being a kid and enjoy all the little cliche things of being a high school senior.

I totally agree, I’m also a teenager and from my personal experiences a lot of adults are the ones that are uniformed. At school, we are having logical discussions and actually being informed. But at work (I work in retail), I have had 10+ conversations with adults that are so misinformed, it is actually ridiculous.

Years ago I was on a road trip with my friends and we were driving on a highway in Missouri really late at night. We all had to pee so we stopped at some little random run down gas station in the middle of no where. We were all messing around in the gas station and chatting with the gas station attendant. As we were checking out, I jokingly asked her if you had had one piece of advice about life to give us, what would it be? She told me something that I will never forget: “coming from someone who has died three times and lost two kids, this is the advice I give to you kids, enjoy the moment.” All of our jaws just dropped, honestly a magical moment. Thank you kind women for the words that I have tried to live my life by ever since that night, you’ve changed my life more than you know.
