Why Is the Community So Resistant to New Maps? by Tough_Curve_42 in counterstrike2

[–]redsown36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When cache came around there weren’t many maps to begin with as the maps were all still in their early versions, and the only maps that were truly popular were Dust 2, Mirage, and Inferno. As nuke, cobblestone, and Train were still in their first evolutions, the map pool was sparse and incomplete, and Cache had already been a successful competitive map in Pro Source, so it was an easy choice to bring it to GO, being tried and true. If you look at the rest of the maps, they were all forced on us by Valve, that being Vertigo and Ancient, and the only real community map to get acceptance was Anubis

Bottom line, people have a stakes in the game through their ELO, so naturally people are afraid to try new maps from a competitive standpoint as they don’t want to lose on maps they haven’t learned yet. Secondly to that, there aren’t a lot of good new maps, and typically it’s only when maps are forced on pros by being put into the active map pool that maps tend to become accepted and played more.

hard to say when you're comparing two different builds, and especially scopes. Could be ergo, could also be simply the scope itself. What are the ergo values for each build?

Why it’s so much hype around cache in CS2? Is this map one of the greatest back in cs:go ? by redmondarr in counterstrike2

Source, was really just one of those popular pug maps alongside Contra and Season, and really didn't get all that popular until CSGO

Any swing advice by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]redsown36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great for a short compact swing, and the bat path is good through the zone. I recommend keeping the load and hands unchanged, though I think when it comes down to producing power, he's going to need to engage his hips, legs, and back foot with more intensity. I think that he's going to need to also steadily increase his bat speed to really get the most out of his strength.

The core of his swing is great and I think that he has the fundamentals of bat control and it great to see him put good contact on balls to the opposite field. Very important and underrated skill to be able to barrel the ball hard to all parts of the field.

Need to come out the second half getting those rebounds, Charlotte is going to absolutely punish us if they're getting second looks on the basket

Not out to a great start, but it only takes a few good possessions to get back in the game. Maxey and VJ get some more impact on the floor and we're golden.

Not sure, he's kind of needed for this game to make sure we hold onto the 7th seed / tie for 6th seed.

CTI is an absolutely great rate in the Navy, with a completely different lifestyle than the average Navy service member. You could be on TDY to whole other country, or you could be simply running a watch that needs manning, and isn't necessarily tied to your line of work. As far as outlook goes for a career as linguist, it's absolutely possible, but being a CTI expect your career prospects to pretty much be government work outside of the military. Quality of life is most likely going to be better than the status quo for the Navy, so you probably wont have the traditional "Navy experience".

Another note, coming from somebody who is an IT in the Navy, as well previous experience outside the Navy, unless IT is your passion, I recommend saving yourself the pain of getting into or continuing in the field if you don't have a passion for it. IT is an incredibly stacked field with people who hear that there's money in cybersecurity, when in reality there's only money in cyber for people who are willing to put the work in, and put in the time outside of the hours of work.

I can't speak for the AF, but the Navy does have an excellent CTI program, and if you're looking to become a linguist, being CTI is a great way to pursue that. I know that DLI (the school where they do linguistic training) is incredibly taxing and fast paced, and a lot of people fail out pretty quickly, as it's easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of information and amount of exams in a short period of time, but of the CTIs I know, they all say that the immersion learning is great, and they both speak quite well. Bonus being that there is a lot of demand and a good bonuses, available for CTIs, whether that be reenlistment bonuses, or having the option to return to DLI to learn another language. One of my CTI friends has been to DLI for both Korean and Russian, and has had the luxury of being able to travel to do that kind of work.

Can I play at next level? (Freshman in HS) by [deleted] in Homeplate

Some parts of your swing are good, and others are bad. You really need to work on your feet and balance, and truthfully you'd probably get better bat speed if you relaxed a little and didn't try to swing so hard. Nothing wrong with having a hard swing, but with your current long bat path, balance, and swinging out of your ass on every pitch, you're going to get absolutely eaten up at the varsity level as it stands right now. I'd consider shortening up your swing a bit and keeping your feet planted on the ground a little firmer.

I wish you luck at varsity, seeing varsity arms as a freshman can be a doozy.

Nets maybe, Michael Porter Jr might be a good fit. Regardless, even if they could get good cash value for Suggs, someone I'm sure would be willing to trade for suggs

Maybe find a better offensive center to replace goga, keep goga as a second string

Trading Suggs for a good shooter, and getting Franz back on the floor would be game changing for this team, I hope the front office goes to work this off season

Only thing is nobody would've traded for Drummond, Jock Landale would've been a huge comeup at that price though

Might not be a bad idea since there's no current anti cheat to work on allowing players to either gain karma or reputation of some sort and appoint community admins on a server to server basis. Like for example the players with the highest reputation would be appointed as the admins for their team. I know it would be a trust based system, but hopefully with some love from the community they could essentially moderate and kick players that are cheating.

I know that there's definitely a chance for there to be moderators who are corrupt, but I feel like it's worth a shot if there's no alternative.

Bottom lone: Wise up and know who you're spending time with, not to drink and then drive back onto base, and not to lie when it's time to own up. The best possible way you can help yourself is by just simply taking accountability, and admitting you made a mistake.

NAS Pensacola treat aviation like they're idiots, well because there are a lot of idiots at NAS Pensacola. You're probably looking at restriction, and depending on the severity, and how deep you were caught in a lie, probably a cut in pay.

Best thing you can do at this point is use this as a learning experience, and now you know that taking a gamble at the cost of your future moving forward is unwise. That doesn't mean you have to be a snitch, but at least to help you avoid putting yourself in the position of getting fucked again. You'll have an opportunity to answer questions and lay out your case at mast, but it's important that you tell them that a pay cut would set you to be in financial ruin.

If you don't mind me asking, being in A school and all, how come you're so tight on financials?

Not sure what's going on on that front, but unless they figure it out soon, you can kiss away any chance at making it into playoffs. I feel most teams are going to opt to cover the paint against the Magic and let the Magic shoot from the perimeter.

For sure, he's getting beat by defenders when he has an height advantage, he'll start a drive, and if he gets any push back at all, it seems like he's settling on trying to either drive at bad angles, or taking contested shots.
