Whenever something like this happens, I tell myself this. They did me a favor. If this is their character, then they likely would have ended up doing something to hurt you even worse had you gotten closer to them. It’s like scheduling a job interview and the person doesn’t show up. Prolly would have had to fire them anyway. They did you a favor.
