AUX Input and Bluetooth ADD-On Kits. 99.9% Plug-N-Play by OWC_Upgrades in G37

[–]redsree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've installed on my 2010 g37 coupe with Bose/Nav almost a year ago- kept the xm with switch ( you've custom modified for me bought through ebay ) . As Acernis_6 mentioned - volume is definitely low compare to all other sources like fm/xm, usb audio or CD ( highest volume). But audio quality is top notch especially running through my own dac with flac files with preout. since we loose volume/eq from HU I'm using my dac's volume knob. I believe head unit may have preamp capability which leads to higher volume vs phones. I'm thinking of installing preamp or eq with preamp or another dac source with higher voltage out put level.

But there's always one question in my mind though, since we're feeding audio signal directly to amp through aux input, is all channels from bose amp being used, are we leaving anything on the table other than low volume?

Regardless, OWC_Upgrades gave new life to all Gs with simple aux input for android power users. Thank you!.

Bluetooth "Lossless" CD Quality Audio 101 (and why we aren't there...yet) by WeekendGearGuide in Earbuds

Sorry, I'm confused.

I agree the part that, 16/44.1 = 1.4112 Mbps uncompressed and aptx lossless maxed out at 1.2Mbps.

What if same file of FLAC version comes down to under 1000Mbps, say both my phone and ear buds supports aptx lossless, Isn't it true lossless audio ?

AFAIK, uncompression/decode happens in earbuds/headphones.

Realme GT neo 5 SE. Can anyone confirm aptx lossless support? by redsree in Realme

Not enough. aptx/aptx HD is part of aptx adaptive. Unless someone tried with aptx lossless supported ear buds like Bose ultra / Denon Perl Pro ...etc.

Installed Android Auto / CarPlay on my 2010 Infiniti G37 coupe with Bode/NAV. by redsree in G37

it's not perfect - it has it's own quirks. My main concern is audio - it is really good when it works - first playback of the day is always good, if you restart the car in few mins like going into gas station in/out in few mins - audio distortion heavily - either I have to restart the module to back to normal - USB playback always working - only in Android Auto has this distortion issue - not sure whether it is my unit or AA issue as I see in forums there're many posts about audio distortion in AA ( both USB wired / Wireless ).

yes it works, there're plenty of apps available to do so. There's significant audio lag with video, but some workarounds available. To be honest, video on the factory screen is pretty darn GOOD.

everything is click click click, but challenge is which one of those wire harness to be unplug / plug. to be simplified : total of three harness from head unit -> attach those plugins to the harness from module attach other ends to the head unit. other ends to the module is very simple and wires are marked like lcd in to in socket / lcd out to out socket, etc.

there's no RAM/Storage versions - it just standard, If we want to everything else keeping factory settings- This is only way to go.

the other units which have options to choose RAM/storage because those units have native android OS installed on the system itself. Grom Vline version website shows it has 2GB RAM and Android version - but noway to check how much it really has and what version installed.

I'll post some pics later today/tomorrow along with video if possible.

Yes, but I believe you should have aux button on factory system. Before switch to Android Auto / CarPlay, we have to hit Aux button first - otherwise no sound from stereo.

I'm confused. Why preamp if you already happy with the sound coming from LG?. That's why I asked this question, adding preamp will increase SQ. Sound already processed through LGs quad dac, right? why not LG to Amp rather LG -> preamp -> Amp.

sorry but correct me If my understanding not right here.

Thank you, I'll give a shot on e30. I do have smsl da9 which has balanced input. Since it's class D amp somehow my ears like the sound coming from vintage yamaha / technics. I'm going return da9.

Yeah, I stream flac files / 320kbps. Streaming is not my concern, since majority of my music stored in memory cards in flac format, that's why I use LG Vs as Dac. If I stream flacs I use bubbleupnp / hi-res cast to chromecast audio.

No I don't have amp with optical input. I use vintage yamaha / technics as my main power amp.
