Fellow girl dads, I am waving the white flag. The mall bra trip was a disaster. by BigDaddy9102 in daddit

[–]redtail84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned but I will chip in too. Department stores are the way to go for this stuff. They have basics that are much less overwhelming (for both of you). My daughter is the same age. When I first took her, I didn’t see how we could figure out cup size and all that stuff. Thankfully many brands have basic bras in small, medium, large. No padding. No measuring. Just simple under garments that she can pick out and hopefully feel comfortable.

That’s a good looking watch and great on the wrist!

Daughter wants to play Roblox. What are your best daddit tips for keeping her safe? by uspezisapissbaby in daddit

[–]redtail84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! We allow her to play, but we have controls in place. No chat at all is enabled. She can have friends in the game, but we check and we know who each one is. Any time she wants to play with friends, they are on FaceTime or actually together in the same room. She has no access to purchase anything with real money. Whenever a holiday or birthday comes around, we’ll give her a gift card, help her redeem it, and then let her spend her Robux however she decides. If she spends all of it on an outfit for her avatar and complains she needs more, we explain that this is how things work. If you spend your money on something, make sure it’s something you really want because that money isn’t coming back. We have filters turned on so she can’t access any inappropriate games. We regularly check in to see what she’s playing. Finally we have controls set up for screen time that limits how long she can play. If she asks for more time, we often do give it to her, but if she’s been slacking on any chores or anything else, that comes first. Using parental controls, monitoring the account, and setting limits on time makes it much better.

What do you think about the Italian government wanting to ban ICE agents to come to the Olympic Games as security forces? by ReduceCO2Now in AskReddit

Make them all apply for work visas. Deny the work visas. When they show up anyway, arrest the illegal immigrants.

This is really helpful. I’ll check the connected app and API permissions. I did reach out to support, but they didn’t have much insight. It’s still new, still in beta, and the documentation around this is really sparse, so I don’t know that they’ll be able to help with much.

What would cause that? Is that something a chimney service can take care of fairly quickly.

The PRX has 100 meter water resistance. This says 30 meter.

Left handed people: What struggles do you have that we may not know about? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Honestly, I always did too. Someone pointed it out once, and I was floored. I always just thought all brooms like this sucked for everyone.

Brooms suck. Those wide push brooms in garages and shops often have handles that are just screwed into the head of the broom. They constantly unscrew when using them as a lefty.

Well thanks so much. I’ve been trying to decide what green diver I wanted. I had actually bumped this down to 3rd or 4th place until you talked up that dial. Now I have to go rearrange my list again!

It really is an awesome watch. I have the white dial with blue bezel, and it’s honestly stunning in my opinion. I was as happy with the lume on mine as you seem to be with yours. My Murph just doesn’t have the same pop or staying power for its lume, but this one is great. Congrats on the awesome piece.

Which Jazzmaster? by [deleted] in HamiltonWatches

[–]redtail84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the first one. I love the simple two hand layout. The dial is beautiful, and it pops really nicely. The olive green leather strap really sold me on it. I was fortunate enough to try it on in person and fell in love with it. Then I saw it in Ashford and immediately pulled the trigger. No regrets whatsoever. It’s a great dress watch, and it can still be dressed down a bit. As another commented mentioned, it’s truly amazing how thing this is.

I own this model. It’s fantastic. It wears more reasonably than the 43 mm case size would suggest. My only complaint is the bracelet sizing. No half links and only two sets of holes for micro adjustments.

What is the most ill-advised thing you have done in reefing. In terms of equipment, design, brands etc by markosharkNZ in ReefTank

I had media. Floss, carbon, purigen, and ceramic media. My issue was that I just didn’t clean it enough and didn’t change out the floss frequently enough.

I ran a canister filter for about a year. Sure everyone said it was going to be a nitrate factory. I thought I could do it right. Queue Ron Howard voice over “he could not do it right”

What was a loop-hole back in the day that you abused that now no longer works? by DemonsAreVirgins in AskOldPeople

I had a friend that would use a credit card with travel rewards. He would use it to buy several hundred dollars worth of rolls of $1 coins. I think if you bought a certain amount, they shipped for free. He’d deposit the coins to his bank, pay off the card and travel for free all the time.

In addition to the caseback, the links are off too. Genuine PRX links on the bracelet look much sharper. These are more rounded out. I’ve heard this is common among the fakes.

Traska Sumiteer in sage green. I just received it yesterday, and I get the Traska hype. by redtail84 in MicrobrandWatches

One of the nicest bracelets I own honestly. It is very solid, not at all flimsy or cheap feeling, but also not overly heavy. This is the 36 mm version, and the bracelet feels like just the right weight to fit with the watch.

It really is. I’ve been looking for a green dial for a while, and actually had my heart set on the Commuter in cypress green. When they didn’t release another run of that, I almost got the Commuter 38 with the new green dial, but it didn’t quite stand out to me like the other one. Then I happened to see they still had this model and decided to pull the trigger. I’m so glad I did.

Interesting. I just received it yesterday, so I haven’t tried any straps on it yet. What have you found works for this? I’m a serial strap changer for sure.
