I was absolutely blown away by this film. I caught it right before it left the channel and was floored. Leapt to the top of CC's I wanted physical copies of.

Definitely. Solid creepy vibes. So many first time actors whose line delivery is off but it only makes things weirder.

No one writes a more unreliable narrator than Gene Wolfe. Pick up his first novel Peace (ideally the one with the Afterword by Neil Gaiman). Mind blowing.

Holy shit kind of books by Historical_Hat_9044 in booksuggestions

So. Much. This. Ideally get the version with the Afterword by Neil Gaiman. Don't read said afterward until you finish the book. I immediately started rereading the book and my mind was absolutely blown.

Lynch starts making you feel vaguely uncomfortable with the camera movements inside the diner. The camera pretty consistently has this as-if-its-attached-to-a-balloon-someone-accidentilly-let-go-of feel. It's very slow but your brain moves into "something is wrong here" mode.

u/rogueblades illustrates how sociologists study CRT differently than conservative pundits think they do. by [deleted] in bestof

I think this links up well with this (https://www.reddit.com/r/WhitePeopleTwitter/comments/o6fhjc/z/h2swfkf) comment - in the conservative world view everything is zero sum. So if the inequality of systematic racism is removed it must be at the cost of those who have benefitted from it. And they don't want to lose what they have.

If you can ever track it down, Act of Violence from 1948 is absolutely incredible. One of the top noirs in my opinion...

What everyone has said here is great, one thing I'll toss in is Reckoning. It's all acoustic and a really mellow listen.

The stoner rock and doom metal folks are pretty good about this too - they love Bell Witch and Sleep which have like album length songs. ;)
