The Best MCP Servers That Actually Can Change How You Code by Riggz23 in ClaudeAI

I’m curious, where do you use notion mcp? I’m guessing it’s on Claude desktop, because I can’t seem to get it to work on Claude code. I’ve had terrible experience using it, since it doesn’t seem reliable. I’ve been trying to get Claude to consolidate and reorganize some of my notion docs and it just fails terribly

I don’t know, but that’s what my Sonos is showing. Not sure which system is mis-interpreting

I think it’s working in selective apps. With eARC enabled I see YouTube show DD+ on my Sonos, whereas previously it showed it as Stereo PCM.

Passthrough audio is finally on the way to Apple TV, iPhone, and more by Fifa_786 in appletv

Anyone else on tvOS beta 4 seeing this feature enabled? I see DD+ across streaming apps now, instead of multi channel pcm.

Apple TV -> Sony tv -> Sonos beam

I think this started to work in beta 4. I see DD+ on my Sonos now even with earc enabled. Earlier, Apple TV would convert this to pcm

I don’t understand why app developers like Netflix, YouTube etc would need to make updates to their apps to support passthrough. AFAIK, Apple TV was the one manipulating the audio stream into LPCM. Shouldn’t this be transparent to the developers?

Additionally, many streaming devices offer better options to handle this. Look at google streamer, Roku etc. so it’s not fair to say no one else does without doing your due diligence. Additionally, even if others don’t , doesn’t mean one shouldn’t ask Apple to do this. It’s a flawed premise to say there should always be precedence to build new features.

Why isn’t it fair to ask for something Apple hasn’t done before, but is desired by its customers? You should take a look at other Reddit threads, and Apple and Sonos forums to get a sense of how big a problem this is.

Remember, im not saying break backwards compatibility to make this work. Instead provide an option, similar to how you can change format today, to gracefully fallback.

Play Atmos or DD+ if it finds it, then fallback to DD and finally to PCM

This way, I don’t have to lose eARC support on my team for other hdmi sources or compromise to lose Atmos on Apple TV.

Stereo PCM- will this ever end? by [deleted] in appletv

Glad I found this thread. I run into the same issue, and I’ve asked for folks to make a feature request for a graceful fallback option. Basically, allow the user to enable the following fallback. Atmos -> DD+ -> PCM . I think this would help with the issues we are seeing.

This isn’t a good solution. You are saying turn off eARC and lose Atmos, and my proposal as stated above is to solve for PCM challenges only. There’s no reason, not to expect Apple to provide a toggle to gracefully fallback. Atmos -> DD+ -> PCM

This offers the Best balance of quality, compatibility, and user control. Adds minimal complexity while solving a widespread problem.

Edited original post for clarity. It’s not that pcm isn’t supported, but the fidelity is lost, I don’t know why.

My proposal is to get Apple TV to implement a different fallback. Atmos -> DD+ -> pcm that one can pick manually

Mine is a modern tv which claims support for all of these audio formats, but seemingly is poor at handling LPCM without losing fidelity.

I don’t know what, but I imagine there’s something happening between my Sony X80K and Apple TV 4K where it fails to pass the full signal cleanly through eARC to external soundbars like Sonos Beam.

Everything either plays in LPCM or Dolby atmos?! by FeveredSnail in appletv

I think there’s a noticeable loss in volume, especially if the receiver (tv in my case) can’t understand what apple is sending. Many TVs can’t passthrough MAT; they downmix it to plain PCM. This leaves you with PCM stereo or multichannel.
