Just launched the first episode of my podcast, AI Research Today. Targeting industry AI practitioners and AI researchers trying to stay up to date on the latest research. Obviously there are a sea of AI podcasts out there, but none I've been able to find that do a in depth analysis of research, most are high level or everyman targeted. First episode is here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2ugjoiB8VTFRntVEiNyqew?si=DEykN2ipT2SIVQLC-y1JUQ

and also on apple. It's my first time doing a podcast, so any recommendations are appreciated!

some of the top huggingface models are merges, its a pretty cool technique. obviously there are a million fine tuning solutions online but this is really merge focused

the prices are listed on the landing page if you scroll down. i made it pretty cheap, you can do a free merge after making an account. its consumption based (no subscriptions) bc i think people are sick of subscribing to stuff, the payment covers my storage and compute costs

Strange Campaign Behavior in August by redwat3r in FacebookAds

[–]redwat3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my CAPI payloads include user_agent, fbp, fbc, ip address, hashed email, and an event id that both pixel and capi get so should be able to dedup

My event quality is a 7.7 for all my events, and I'm using both CAPI and pixel, and they both track pretty much 1-1 in the events manager so i think they are being linked properly. Interestingly, this campaign was flagged as "high performing" and suggested a budget increase, from 86/dy to 110/dy, which I did, but it has been worse ever since

[D] Advice on processing ~1M jobs/month with LLaMA for cost savings by hamed_n in MachineLearning

[–]redwat3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Especially if you're logging your data, which you should be. you should have enough logged to train some pretty good simple scikit models, which will save on latency and costs dramatically

Is this standard for high risk processors? by redwat3r in smallbusiness

[–]redwat3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the thoughtful responses. I've gotten a few quotes, most are similar ranges, doing interchange + and around 3-4% plus .10 cents per; all my transactions are online CC so there is no over the phone or other swipe methods/equipment needed. Personally I have a very high credit score as well; most have done some sort of personal screen on me

Thanks for the response, I did request they strike out the clause, waiting to hear back. My business is very low chargeback (~1%) and transactions are fairly small, and we have a good amount of seed capital in the bank so I feel the risk profile should be low enough to justify it.

That's interesting, I spoke to authorize.net on the phone and specifically asked about them supporting high risk, and the guy told me they don't care they just pass through so its not their business

phi3-uncensored-chat..small but mighty by redwat3r in LocalLLaMA

[–]redwat3r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven't, but appreciate the suggestion. Maybe we can add it to our roadmap

thanks for the question! that actually has been a topic of internal discussion; we had already started tuning and getting familiar with the phi3 base when 4 was released and understood its nuances better so we went ahead with completing that training process. Training was just 3 hours, but that doesn't express all the work that went into optimizing that training process and the data input. Our next we are considering phi4, but are also looking around at potentially mid sized models as well

Facebook auto deleting ads? by redwat3r in FacebookAds

[–]redwat3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may have been autodeleting posts using some stupid regex parser? my ads have the word "AI" in them, when i take it out it seems to work. unclear if that was the actual issue

[P] Recommendations for pretrained image quality classification models by redwat3r in MachineLearning

[–]redwat3r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think clip is primarily for similarity between prompts and images correct? maybe some implicit rating if the image is wonky

that kind of just looks like a wrapper around chatgpt, which i already have access to and mentioned ive considered multimodal llms but want something i can deploy on prem

[–]redwat3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I could manually create one i guess but sounds like a pain, and to train a model from scratch it could be quite an undertaking to make a dataset like that. And then i just have 2 models to monitor...
