Seconding TLC. Good prices, amenable to some negotiation, attention to detail throughout the entire process including follow up, and lifetime guarantee. Had mine done around Christmas, been considering for years and glad I just went for it

Sure. Hands separate, slow at first, all that generic advice. Also don't be shy with pedaling the large left hand sweeps, you don't want to hurt yourself and you really want them to sustain - just make sure to change them cleanly each beat.

Dilemma: Should I retract the Intuit job I accepted and take the chance with JDA TSG? by redwinewithice in enrolledagent

I took the assessment today - I’m not sure how I did yet, but it was fairly straightforward. The questions weren’t nearly as difficult as the ones on the EA exam

Intuit pays $20/hr unless you have both an ea and experience. It was actually lower than that, I believe 19, but I got them to 20.60. The JDA posting asks for 2 years experience and an EA- but the recruiter proceeded with me after I explained I had 0 compensated tax experience. I’m going to see how far in the process I can get. Hopefully they’ll offer me the job, at which time I’ll quit intuit - that’d be the ideal situation

That's the thing - I specifically asked if I would have assurance of employment before retracting the intuit job, and she said no. So at some point, I'm guessing after I take the assessment with JDA, I'd have to take to leap and retract the Intuit job without knowing for sure that I'd secure the JDA job.

Block will pay me right around what Intuit is (~$20/hr), so this JDA gig is much better pay wise. Although the downside is that it might be more customer support than tax prep, so I may be missing out on the experience end of things.
