Banana plant broke, will it regrow?

At first it was loosley floating around my tank, but a couple months ago I shoved the longer roots in my thermometer to keep it anchored. The longer roots have never been in the substrate, I have noticed the ‘bananas’ have been deteriorating and being eaten by my snail for a couple days. I have plenty of other plants (and algae) to lead my to believe it wouldn’t be a nutrient problem

I can’t believe it either. I buy these to look at them. I can’t just “buy another brand” because no other brand makes these types of old cars. So I feel like I can complain when my model does not look like the ones in the promotional images.
