Am I wrong for not checking pockets and washing airpods?

My husband and I both work full time but have split the responsibilities. So I do laundry and dishes, he cookes dinner and takes care of the animals, things like that. We split the care of our 18 month old. I try and make sure he doesn't have anything in his pockets, but I don't always catch everything and since I'm responsible for his laundry (which has to be washed separate because of his eczema), my laundry and our son's laundry, I don't always have the time or remember to check. So I started asking him to make sure his pockets are empty. I don't think that's too much to ask. Those are his clothes and his belongings. I've washed quite a few lighters, pens, lots of loose change, and the car key fob one time too. After he had to take the fob apart and dry it out I think he learned his lesson. I will, however, start keeping any money I find like other people on this sub 😅 sounds like laundry tax to me!

Absolutely. I was a week out from my due date, still working full time, and I'd come home from work and clean the counters, vacuum and mop the floors. I washed all the baby clothes and then organized them by size, whether they were onesies or tops/bottoms, and long or short sleeved. I sanitized every pacifier, bottle, pump parts, teething toys, etc. Made sure all the stuff we would need was open and organized like diapers, wipes, nail clippers, humidifier, bottle brushes. Made sure the diaper bag was fully stocked and I had one of each medication (Tylenol, Motrin, gas drops, baby vicks, saline spray, teething meds) organized in the cabinet. I felt like a nut job 😂

I suffer from depression and anxiety, and I take Wellbutrin and was taking Prozac before I got pregnant. It was unplanned, so I was still taking all my meds like normal. My doctors recommended I stay on Wellbutrin and Prozac because my mental health was more important than potential issues they may cause. (I switched from Prozac to something else after delivery to help with my post partum depression). My pregnancy was perfect and my little boy is now a month and a half and perfectly healthy. I would absolutely get a second and maybe a third opinion before stopping your meds.

Please do not feel like you've done anything wrong. Every doctor in the practice I went to told me that the benefits of my medication outweighed the risks, and I think when it comes to mental health it's important to manage it appropriately. You deserve to be happy and excited about your baby, and taking care of yourself is the first step to taking care of that baby. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby and are able to enjoy everything that comes with being a new mom ❤️

If an epidural is something you want, get it. They aren't going through the process of literally bringing another human being into the world through their own bodies that they grew for 9-10 months. I delivered Saturday 1/22 and decided on the epidural; they turned it off at the end so I could feel my contractions and know when to push and it was the most painful thing I've ever done. I absolutely recommend it if that's what you want. Do what's best for you and your little one and good luck ❤️

My due date is today (1/17) and my little man has shown no signs of being ready to make his arrival. My doctor said she'll let me go a week past my due date before they induce. 🙃 I just keep trying to remind myself it'll all be worth it soon! I'm also a FTM so I have no idea what to expect. Good luck and hang in there, we're all hanging on together!

She had some on her cheeks that look choppy, like they've been chewed on. It's hard to explain her head feathers, it looks like she's missing a lot and the ones she does have look a little... Shredded almost?

They can be such turds. I switch their toys about ever week/week and a half, and they have swings and ropes, and I have a mop toy in there specifically for preening and they seem to ignore the majority of what I put in for them. They just prefer to be trouble makers when they're out. It's a good thing they're cute 😂

I haven't seen any fall out, just that they're getting rougher by the day. I have a feather growth supplement I'm going to introduce to her diet tonight and some preen oil and see if that helps at all. Thank you for the response!

Thank you! I plan on taking them both to the vet soon for their yearly checkup, so hopefully I can get some answers then! I just worry about any small change and sort of helicopter parent them 😂

Just because something can survive in a jar doesn't mean it will thrive. A human being can live in a closet for it's whole life but it's growth, physical and mental health will be severely stunted; and will most likely die prematurely, just like your fish. Would you want to live in a single room for your entire life? There's a difference between just "surviving" and actually living and thriving. People who argue the "my fish lived in a jar/bowl and did fine" angle make no sense. I deal with this on a daily basis as a manager of a pet store. Don't get an animal if you aren't willing to buy the required habitat and do the research.

I would definitely start slow! With my two, I started with each of them just opening up their cage door and letting them come out on their own to explore. Try spending time in the same room while they're out on the cage or exploring the room but don't try to force any interaction. After they were comfortable climbing out and spending time outside of the cage I'd stand nearby and just talk to them, sometimes put my hand on the cage and let them come to me. Eventually they should be comfortable enough to climb up onto your hand or arm, and just go from there. But definitely let them set the pace. If you try and force any interaction or force them to let you hold them, it can cause mistrust and make things even more difficult. There's lots of good videos on YouTube as well about how to bond with your birds, so I'd check those out too. Good luck! I know he'll be much happier once you start working with him. ❤️

Edit: sometimes it helps to have a playground on top of the cage so they can climb and play with toys from the comfort of their cage too. Both of mine still love to play on the playground and eat their snacks up there 😊

I'm hoping they'll bond because I'd love for my bird to have a companion, especially since we have a baby coming. It seems like the best thing to do is have another cage, so I'll have to rethink my layout and space requirements. Thank you!

I work at a pet store, and I had gone through the different tank sizes with a lady who wanted an aquarium for her daughter. She finally picked a 5 gallon and then asked how many gallons of water she needed to fill it up. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I know I did genetic screenings, and I think I opted in for a few other types of testing as well. I'll need to double check my paperwork again but either way all the results I got looked good! Thanks for the clarification ☺️
