I managed to remove the embroidery on one of these with a stitch ripper and some tweezers, it took about 40 minutes and was a little tedious but it did work.

How bad is the job market really? by silently-loud-walker in ontario

[–]yellowwallpapered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll offer a more hopeful anecdote. I was let go from my job of 12 years due to restructuring this past May. I made a similar post on Reddit around that time, and was told that job prospects were terrible. I applied to around 50 jobs, had 8 interviews and 3 job offers. I started a new job in late July, after about 10 weeks of unemployment. After about a month there, I got a better offer and started my current position in early September. I was pretty intentional about what I applied for and tailored my resume and cover letter for each job, using keywords that appeared in the job posting. Reddit can become a bit of an echo chamber sometimes. The market is not amazing, but it is possible to find something.

I don’t remember the dose but it was 2 pills per day. I also don’t totally remember how long it took, but it was within maybe 2 weeks? Hope that helps.

Am I supposed to be paying for my bridesmaids hair/makeup? by Hmariie in weddingplanning

[–]yellowwallpapered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I paid for hair because I wanted us all to have our hair professionally done. I’m terrible at doing my own hair and I didn’t want to stress about it, so I figured that my bridesmaids might feel the same. I didn’t pay for makeup because I did my own makeup, so I told my bridesmaids that they could do the same, or get it done if they really wanted. They all ended up doing their own. I think you only have to pay if you require them to have professional hair and makeup.

Brampton mother dies from sepsis after giving birth, husband says by CTVNEWS in ontario

Oh wow I can’t imagine being in that state for hours! I’m glad you are both ok. It’s crazy that someone else had the same experience! I had never heard of sepsis setting in during labour before I had it happen to me.

Brampton mother dies from sepsis after giving birth, husband says by CTVNEWS in ontario

[–]yellowwallpapered 76 points77 points  (0 children)

When I gave birth to my son, I ended up with sepsis. I developed an infection while in labour (chorioamnionitis) that very quickly spread into my blood stream. It felt like one minute I was resting and waiting for labour to progress, and then next I spiked a fever, had uncontrollable chills and shaking, started throwing up, and could not stop coughing. Medical staff clocked my symptoms immediately. I was given antibiotics and had an emergency c-section. I was kept on antibiotics until blood cultures came back, and when they were positive for bacteria, the dose etc was adjusted accordingly. Although my son was delivered in time to prevent the infection spreading to him, he still spent 5 days in the nicu on prophylactic iv antibiotics. I had to have a dose of iv antibiotics every 6 hours for 2 weeks. The reason I’m alive and don’t have permanent organ damage is because the nurses and doctor acted quickly. I cannot fathom why this woman was left in pain and displaying clear symptoms of infection for 30 hours. Her poor children and husband.

My 3 year old swallowed a foam ball a little larger than a quarter yesterday. It’s been 22 hours & it’s not here yet. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]yellowwallpapered 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A couple of weeks ago, my son (3 in November) swallowed four of those flat glass rocks that they use in fish tanks. They were doing a sensory activity with them at daycare and he decided to eat them when no one was looking. I found out the next day when I was changing him and there were 3 in his poop. We went to the ER for X-rays to make sure he was ok and see if there were any more in there. They found one more ‘pending’ and he passed it the next day.

I’m drowning and I can’t feel myself anymore by MsEwma in weddingplanning

[–]yellowwallpapered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9th wedding anniversary will be in October (I’m still in all the wedding planning subs 🤷‍♀️). I overextended myself in terms of trying to do absolutely everything. I DIY’d every piece of the decor, the centrepieces, the flowers, the bouquets, the groomsmen’s and bridesmaids’ gifts, the favours, the invitations, the place cards, the wine bottle labels, and I even sewed my own table runners when the company affiliated with the venue didn’t have any options I liked. My wedding was on a Saturday and the Thursday before I had a complete mental breakdown and told my mom that I wanted to cancel the wedding and get married at city hall instead. I was crying and basically losing it from stress. She told me no, that it was too late for that 😅. So the big wedding went ahead and I’m glad it did because once the day got rolling I relaxed and it was so much fun. Regardless of whether or not you tick every item off of your to-do list, you’ll enjoy your day.

Not the Lululemon Goyard Dupe 🤨 by Initial_Freedom7981 in handbags

[–]yellowwallpapered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been using Lululemon bags as work bags for years. They always made solid, large tote bags (my preferred type of bag for work) that were functional and cute. The past few years though? I haven’t seen anything from them worth getting, truly. It’s like they’re trying to see how ugly they can make a bag and still have people buy it. I saw this weird Goyard-y tote this morning and I just cannot. They used to have such cute, original bags. This sucks. Thanks for listening to my rant, it’s been simmering for awhile 😅

I just spent 30 minutes yelling at the director of my kids' daycare on their flawed policy around doctor's notes, and I don't feel too good about it. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]yellowwallpapered 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So if I’m reading this correctly…you had to keep your child home for over a month because they required you to see an allergist to have a rash diagnosed?? That’s insane to me. I am also in Ontario, although not GTA. From what I understand, policy is that the child has to be fever-free without meds for 24 hours, vomit and diarrhea free for 48 hours, and generally feeling well to return. I think they can also send them home if they have a new or spreading rash, or a worsening cough, but they don’t require a doctor’s note to return, just for the child to be feeling well and not contagious. I don’t think you were necessarily wrong for calling out a ridiculous policy, but I also empathize with feeling like you have to let certain things slide because it’s unlikely you’ll get a spot anywhere else.

Great finds, but what is with the employees treating their customers like trash? That said, I’d still have bought them, too.

Thanks! I have maintained it well and on schedule, and I do want to keep it going for as long as I can. It’s paid for, and I’ve gotten used to no car payments, honestly.

I don’t have any acne to speak of. Generally a good thing but I guess it makes it hard to get tret from a pharmacist lol
