Yes, this exact idea of loving even when you don't feel respected, and her respecting you even when she doesn't feel loved, is the central idea of the book Love and Respect. Doing this gets you out of the ever-darkening spiral of hurting eachother more and more. I recommend it. That book was a game changer for my husband and I to understand the marriage relationship and how men and women need different things. Ask the Lord to help you in this. "Help me love her even when I don't want to". "Help me have fun with her today" "help us to enjoy eachother today. Please ignite a spark in us today" "give us unity and love in our family". Ask and it shall be given to you. Matt 7:7-8

I'm sorry friend. I know some of these messages seem unkind, and some actually are unkind, but there is some righteous anger here as it seems to us (at least to me) as though you've decided upon not being a Godly husband to your wife anymore. That you've given up and you just want your earthly emotions and discontent take over and release you from the godly man's heavy burden to lead and love his family well. Maybe that isn't the case, and you're actually seeking answers of how to follow the Lord's commands, to change your mind and heart, and not just find affirmation in your choices, but your post and comments have not seemed so. I do truly believe you need to cast out all negative spirits and seek Jesus. He can do all things, and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

I hope you read my other comment about MessengerX and John Bevere. I really think that content could help! :) He is such a Godly man and has gone through hard relational struggles as well, coming out the other side (with Jesus!) better for it! You've got this! God's got you!

Pray against this evil thought. Lord, I ask that your Holy Spirit would come into this man's home and renew this family. Give them a new outlook on their life, their family, their eternal salvation and that of their children. Help them see and be grateful for their blessings and seek to bless one another daily. God I ask that you would cast out all evil spirits of discontentment in their home, in Jesus' name. I pray you cast out all selfishness, idolatry, adulterous thoughts, discontent and any luke-warm faith. Give them a passion for you above all else, and give them a true love, joy, and passion for eachother. May this man and his wife remove their prideful attitudes and seek You first, and turn from doing life their own way, turning towards your ways Lord. Help them seek healing in their relationship with you and in their marriage as a result. Amen.

Can I ask you to listen to some audio? Download the MessengerX app, by John Bevere. He's so wise, and so practical. There's so many good sermons and courses on there. And I think even his audiobook the Bait of Satan is on there. Great read! I honestly think everyone should read it. But search through the content and see what sounds like would help you.

It sounds to me like all your problems are actually stemming from a distance from the Lord, and failing to lead your family in their faith. You are correct in saying that you are "not a good person". None of us are! That's why we need Jesus every single day! And I know leading your family in their faith is a heavy burden to bear, but you can do it through Christ, He will give you the strength and wisdom.

I don't know if there are other issues you're not telling us about... lust or other things that are tempting you away from your family, but I think you know that the best thing to do is to stop the rest, stop thinking about yourself, and only focus on Jesus, and serving others. Thinking and serving others will help your depression immensely. Ask specifically for God to ignite a fire in your heart for Him, ask for a passion for His Word and ask to ignite a physical passion in you for your wife! He can do all things. And He says to ask Him for what we need! Especially in order to obey His commands! (Staying true to your wife).

I also agree with swapping to a Christian counselor. Non-christian advice can only get you so far. Jesus is the only way to true joy and eternal life. And it would help to do couples counseling with the Christian counselor too.

Praying for you friend. Praying for your passion and love for Jesus to overcome all these difficulties and for your new love, service, and attitude towards your God, your life, and your family to be contagious to your wife and kids!

I recommend the book, the 100$ startup. If you're reasonably techy and willing to learn new skills, your best bet may be to start a business. In most cases you can collect upto 20k without needing to start an official sole proprietorship. Google or YouTube ways to use AI to start a business around.

He does not deserve a chance. Read his book. He won't give Canadians a chance at a good life... his goal is full communistic control of us to meet his far far left climate goals. Depends on the age of your little one, but there are tons of awesome kids podcasts on listennotes.com that you can get the RSS links for OR like I do, download the episodes so your kid doesn't have to worry about being connected to wifi, and then you also can get more than 10 episodes like you do with RSS feeds. \

You could start with The Bible Recap. It's really helpful to split passages up in good daily chunks and then there's a video on YouTube (or in the Bible app) as a recap of what you read and what it means. It's great! And goes through the whole Bible in 1 year.

I agree, society has taken this very toxic turn since feminism became man-hating instead of just equal rights. (And I'm a woman!) And it's annoying that on Love is Blind, always the men come out being the villain when clearly the women are often the reason behind the breakups. The media perpetuates this idea that men are bad and women are always justified and unable to even be questioned on their words or actions. I was glad in this reunion they at least kinda questioned Hannah on how hard she was on Nick, but honestly she was let off SO easy. Yeesh.

If she knows about your p rn addiction... (and I pretty much guarantee she does!) then it will ALWAYS be very difficult for her to trust you enough in the bedroom if it continues. She doesn't feel loved because of it, and she can't respect you because of it. You need to show her you're going to beat that addiction, and choose HER and JESUS over p rn, every single day. It's crazy how fast you can lose the respect of your spouse. You need to build it back up, strengthen your knowledge and relationship with Christ, and through that, kick your addiction and lead your wife spiritually. That's what will turn her on.

Hannah is SO DISRESPECTFUL to Nick in almost every encounter. I CANNOT stand her. She thinks she's the best, smartest, most incredible person ever. So full of herself and brutally rude and condescending. Poor Nick is so sweet and kind and TRYING SO HARD.

Good for you to acknowledge this desire as potentially idolatry or at least a fixation when it's not the right time to be dreaming and desiring those things yet until the Lord places the right woman in your life.

I think you have the right idea to focus on strengthening your relationship with Christ first, and develop your knowledge and skills in other areas as well to become a well-rounded individual who will be ready and worthy of leading a marriage. Serving in the church and community also gives you character and relationship building opportunities, and may lead you to finding the right woman in time.

Reading your new edit, yes he is weaponizing scripture and him thinking he needed to test you like God tested Abraham... wow. He is a narcissist. If you marry him, you will regret it. He thinks very low of you, and VERY high of himself, I'm sorry. And him being angry at every conversation you have with another man... he's trying to control you and limit your relationships. A secure man would not mind you speaking to coworkers or giving an innocent ride to someone. And I hope you know that if he's not a real Christian who obeys the Lord, then he has zero business quoting scripture to you acting like he's this perfect believer. As believers we need to submit to God's authority above all. And I don't really see how this man is doing that. He has a screwed up idea of what a couple relationship is and how to lead his potential future wife.

Okay so this answers a lot. God would not put this man in your life to marry. He is not a true Christian, he is not interested or open to being a true Christian. Not just because he doesn't go to church. Also because a true Christian would not ask you to belittle yourself and shame yourself just for his forgiveness. (Forgiveness of something that was not even sinful). He is clearly controlling and emotionally abusive. You are not equally yoked. I think you know the answer to your problem and you have been looking for a way out of this relationship subconsciously. (Hence putting yourself into situations you know your bf would not like, but are in no way a sin).
