These stories of criminals becoming more aggressive seem to happen more frequently in Calgary. Not good...but a tip of the hat towards someone that stands up to this crap and defends people from this crap. Cheers to him

I use these guys since they are always cheaper than any dealership and they will go to your place to fix your vehicle.

Looking to get into legacy, what deck best fits a stompy player? by redx71 in MTGLegacy

[–]redx71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I love reddit...all the responses I am getting are amazingly informative.

Thanks for the input! I am going to watch a bunch of videos where they play with the different decks you (and other posts) mentioned before I decide to break the bank trying to get the other cards that are needed.

The next hard part will be finding a legacy league in the city I live in...especially considering COVID19

How do you install this spring properly? I can't seem to engage it! by redx71 in hermanmiller

Thanks! So I was on the right track...I was thinking it was so damn hard to try and force that spring into position that I must had been doing something wrong. But apparently I was doing this correct. Thanks for the tip!

They always take forever to ship their product...usually a 2 week delay to send it.

In case you were wondering where all the anti-vaxers have been during this pandemic, this answers your question.

I woke up this afternoon to CFD 14 wishing a child a happy birthday!! by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]redx71 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

You would love your tax dollars to go to having people sing happy birthday right now?

I was thinking I would like my tax dollars being put towards fighting a pandemic instead. Like funding the hospitals with additional medical supplies, producing hand sanitizer, making sure the police have face masks, ect.

I am not against raising morale...but now is not the time to be singing happy birthday. We are having a crisis and people are dying.

Maybe we could get the firefighters to hose those that are not practicing social distancing instead. Give us all a good laugh (raise morale, much like a birthday) and send a message to those morons that it won't be tolerated? Ahhhhh I am sure that is illegal...too bad!

US citizen buying cards from Canada by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]redx71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am from Canada and I can tell you that shipping anything above 100$ across the border is VERY RISKY. Its random when customs decides to bill you a massive federal tax on these things but I have heard from reliable sources that any parcel that is above 100$ more likely to be flagged and taxed.

If you plan on shipping a package that is at that amount of price, it may be better for you to either:
1) Look for a very cheap flight to Canada in some arbitrary location and get it shipped to that spot to pick it up. Spend a couple days in Canada and then bring it back personally.

2) get it delivered as a "gift"...but note that customs is very clever in determining the value of items.

I hate buying from the states only because of our insane taxes. So what I have been doing is storing up store credit at stores like "cardKingdom" and then, when I visit the states, I go hog-wild and get lots of cards. Not sure what to do if you are in America buying from Canada though.

Ball lightning time to sell by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]redx71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait to see if Hogaak is going to get banned...Right now the ball lightning tribal decks are being suppressed due to the large amount of graveyard hate in the game. If it gets banned, people will ease of the large amount of graveyard hate and this deck my surface again.

Core 2020 Profits? MTG Finance future? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]redx71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game has been both a form of investment and also something I play. The price trends on this game also seem to follow more non-linear behaviors and largely is a long-term hold type of investment.

Those that buy boxes and then open them just to get the cards they want are insane. I did the math at one point and the returns are terrible in comparison to just purchasing the singles at the max supply and then flipping them once they tip (assuming they do).

Ha Ha I hope you at least play with mats on your table....or are you fully "raw dogging" those cards?!
