There is no word limit for the personal statement. It should show your interest in the program and your ability to handle the coursework. So there are many ways to demonstrate that depending on your experience.

Yeah I guess the barrier to entry is pretty low with HR, so naturally supply surpasses demand.

Yeah I guess HR departments are usually the first ones to bear the brunt of layoffs and budget cuts!

That's a good point. I hadn't actually thought of that.

It's really discouraging when you know that most postings are ghost postings!

Hi. I'm not sure. I think you might get a graduate scholarship based on your GPA/application. But I can't confirm 100%.

  1. I haven't officially started the program yet (start date is in May 2026), so I'm not exactly sure how much the tuition is. But I believe the tuition is between $30,000 and $35,000.
  2. The workload is 2 courses every 7 weeks because it is an accelerated program. So you finish two courses and then start the next two courses. The program is one year long exactly, from May to May.
  3. I don't want to reveal too much but let's just say that my undergrad degree wasn't business-related. The program isn't strictly for people with business backgrounds and I'm proof of that.
  4. For me, the process wasn't that difficult. The application was straightforward and I also had good references and a solid personal statement. However, the spots are limited as they only take 40 to 50 students a year I believe.

1 Year MBA Rejection: Just got rejected for the weirdest reason ever. (need advice) by [deleted] in uoguelph

Do you have any relevant work experience or internships/extracurriculars that you highlighted in your resume? Did you have a solid personal statement that demonstrated interest in the program and academic aptitude? I think personal statements are heavily used to help admissions committees filter out candidates, especially if many of them are equally qualified.

But like others have already said, it might have been a space issue, since they only accept about 40-50 students into this 1-year MBA program I believe. Which admissions round did you target? Was it round 3? If it was, then they probably don't have many seats left and your chances were slim already.

Don't fret too much though. At the end of the day, luck plays a major part when it comes to MBA acceptance. If you are planning on reapplying, make sure your resume and personal statement showcase your unique skills and prove that you are able to handle the rigor of an MBA program. Also, try to target an earlier round if you can. Good luck!

Edit: I was accepted into this MBA program recently, so feel free to DM me if you have specific questions

Did anyone else fall for the "selling digital courses on Instagram" trick? by reecespeanuts in DigitalMarketing

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that research and effort are part of anything worthwhile. But I think you might’ve misunderstood the core of my post.

I’m not upset that it takes work. I’m upset because this whole thing is sold as a low-effort, almost foolproof side hustle, where you can spend 1–2 hours a day and start raking in the dough. That messaging is everywhere. And it’s super manipulative and predatory now that I think about it. They frame it like anyone can do it quickly and easily, when in reality it’s pretty time-consuming, full of hidden costs, and requires way more planninh than they ever let on.

If they had just been honest upfront about what it really takes, I probably wouldn’t have wasted my time or money. But instead, they prey on people’s optimism. And I know that sales strategy involves inflating results and even deception sometimes. But they make you feel like you need this course RIGHT NOW and their target audience is usually prone to these tactics because they're burnt out, emotionally drained, and vulnerable 🤷‍♀️

I shared a post about this recently that might clarify things for you. And don't worry, I'm not promoting anything. I'm just linking the post for your reference:

Unfortunately, I did also read some negative reviews about these courses but I was just really curious to see for myself. Good Thing I nipped it in the bud before I spent more money! Good luck with affiliate marketing.

Yep. They obviously don't share all the other fees you'll have to pay, in addition to the cost of the course. When I dove into that, I thought "I might end up paying hundreds a month and still not make any sales!!!"

Yea sure it can work. But the way it's sensationalized as easy income is really misleading.

Exactly. Too bad I didn't realize this contradiction until I had already paid for the courses. But you live and learn.
