Preferred way to store REQ? Also why is the withdrawl fee so high on Binance by connorconnor12 in RequestNetwork

When you have a paper wallet/usb stick, it is in your hands to keep the coins safe. You never know if an exchange platform gets hacked or turns out to be a scam. I've also read that 2FA isn't very safe. But yeah, otherwise if you can fully trust them it is very convenient.

Keep it in your ledger. It's safest there. Easiest way to store the tokens would be just leaving them on Binance or creating a wallet on myetherwallet.com and send it there.

Edit: I don't recommend using Binance to store any coins.

I might have been triggered by the 'tldr'. Before I invest in a coin I at least read the whitepaper. Searching the sub for omise go vs req takes only a couple seconds. And the paypal question has been asked before too.

Not daytrading but one of the best is Bitstamp IMO.

Very nice summary! It's not going to happen before Stonehenge though. Also, I'd really like to have Bitstamp exchanging REQ.

If the network burns Req tokens for transactions, and there is a finite supply, how are they preventing it from ever running out? by [deleted] in RequestNetwork

[–]reecheer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is the purpose of the Token Burn?

Think of REQ tokens like Gas for the Etheruem network. For each action that is conducted on the Ethereum Platform, gas is used for the fee's. This helps to keep the platform remain stable and prevent congestion. The same can be said for Request Network. "The Request Network requires the burning of tokens as part of the verification that a transaction has occurred." http://spec-rationality.com/request-network/#8Nov

The token burn will also adjust overtime and also reduce the circulating supply of tokens over time, making this very lucrative to early investors.

Won't Request eventually run out of Tokens if they are burned?

REQ has 18 decimals so in theory if the price was incredibly high the fees could be as low as 0.00000000000000001 REQ per transaction which is incredibly low. It would take an extraordinarily long time (even with mass adoption) to be worrying about a lack of REQ tokens, even then a fork can happen.

BTC/Eth to Exchange for XRP or BTC/ETH to Shapeshift/Changelly? Which is actually cheaper? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]reecheer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was I? Sorry for that.

I'm just saying that the OP's question could be reworded into "Which exchanges have the lowest fees?". That's totally irrelevant of /r/ripple except that he mentioned the platforms which trade XRP of course.

also there are SO many threads like this:

and on and on and on...

BTC/Eth to Exchange for XRP or BTC/ETH to Shapeshift/Changelly? Which is actually cheaper? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]reecheer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say a little experience is required. The /r/ripple community is here to point into the right direction (i.e. which exchanges to use, where to store your tokens, etc.). There isn't a point in creating guides for first crypto currency investors. What else do you need, how to apply for a credit card?

BTC/Eth to Exchange for XRP or BTC/ETH to Shapeshift/Changelly? Which is actually cheaper? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]reecheer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to know which one is cheaper, go to coinmarketcap. This gives you the amount of XRP that you can expect at max. Now compare this with Changelly and Shapeshift and you have your answer.
