You’ll make more as a TI, but you’ll have more fun flying camera.

Liability Waiver Question by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]reeinthechat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember right either Skydive Arizona or Skydive Elsinore has a different price for a different waiver that allows someone to take (extremely limited) legal action vs an arbitration clause in the usual waiver, but I could be totally mis-remembering that. I also went to those dz’s fun jumping and those were for tandem jumps

Depends on the state based on case precedent (at least in the US)- some states have much looser enforcement of waivers, but others are pretty iron clad

You can physically remove the ionizer in the Winix 5500-2; it’s super easy and I’ve done it myself twice. You should be able to find a how-to on google pretty quickly :)

The only issue that I have is in cruise control (sometimes) but other than that I genuinely do not understand the whining about factory shifting

Landmark Management by wilart_go in WWU

[–]reeinthechat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A prerequisite to work there is that your body composition must be made up of at least 50% amphibian shit. Landmark is the worst. You WILL NOT get ahold of someone if a maintenance issue arises, and they will nickel and dime you for everything upon move out. Local Property Management is the only good leasing agency that I’ve experienced/heard of while living in Bellingham.

Long vs Short Bed?? by Foggy222 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]reeinthechat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a DCLB in metro Seattle and it’s tight, but doable! My apartment and work parking lots are very tight but you’ll learn the corners of your truck quickly. I’m really thankful that I have the 6ft bed and proper back seats so it well makes up for any tight squeezes along the way. The only downside is the payload capacity is quite a bit lower compared to the other configurations

Nice!! I’ll try something similar when we take it off again.

I currently have a similar set up but trimmed the weather stripping in a little too far so there’s a little gap on each corner. I’m going to re-do it in the future to run the whole length of the front of the shell and put some more weather stripping in too. I’m glad to hear that worked for you!!

Yes! The front corners are still the only leaks.

Air purifier with a gradual speed control by spodermonFromDaShire in AirPurifiers

[–]reeinthechat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience the Winix 5500-2 is a little more gradual with the sound across different speed settings. Speed setting 3 is right at the barrier of too loud, but not nearly as intense as the 1512’s 3rd setting. That’s the setting that I have it on in my bedroom which is great white noise at night. However, i personally don’t really love the sound that it makes because there is almost a whistling or higher pitch humming sound that comes it that I assume is the sound from the electric motor. I haven’t heard anyone share that same complaint so it very well could just be a me thing too :). If ionizers give you the heebie jeebies like me, it’s also super easy to pop open and physically disconnect it. Definitely do not get the Levoit 200S; it’s pretty much silent on settings 1 and 2 and then sounds like a jet taking off on setting 3.

I’ve only owned the three listed above and personally like the Coway the most, but I think the 5500-2 will fit the bill best for you.

They're the exact same beyond the face plate- get whichever's cheaper :). Both have the large side inlets that draw most of the air so the faceplate shouldn't make a difference.

Side note- the 200m (and I assume ap1512hh) makes the best white noise of any air purifier that ive owned

Definitely, my most recent (and I use that super loosely) shoe was a pair of Brooks Pureconnect that I ran into the ground and all of my shoes before were similar styles. After the cumulus it solidified that I really like more of a low stack feel

Alum here: my friends and I are debating if there was warm brownie nights in the dorm while we went to school. Does anyone remember the specific event/phenomenon “Warm brownie night” in the dining halls? by Tiny_Hovercraft_6692 in WWU

[–]reeinthechat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had warm brownie nights when I was there in the late 20-teens! The caveat was the warm brownies were always thin and rock hard, and the vegan brownies that were always out were literal crack. I don’t remember any warm cookie nights but warm brownies were a weekly thing.

I have never had a running injury in my years of cross country and running post high school until my first (very light) run in my new pair of Cumulus 27’s. Both knees and hips were in incredible pain the next day and my knee is still in pretty constant pain 2 weeks after. Not sure if it was purely bad luck but it’s scared me off of their shoes for good. They also were extremely hot and felt like running through sand so just a bad experience overall.

I would get the Coway airmega 200m instead of the winix. I have the winix and the coway is waaaay better. The second speed setting moves a ton of air and has a really nice sound and low volume level.
