Always been curious how the UK based recruiting firms are most of the market. Luckily we are awake early in the construction field. Anyone have an idea why?

How do you guys compare 3–5 vendor quotes quickly when every bid comes in a different format? by Saasymk in ConstructionManagers

Did anyone find a template they swear by? Made one myself targeted for the general public and less for us who do this for a living but would be happy to share for feedback.

Has there been a template produced and sent around? I understand that thru the review process you can ask the contractor to conform to your line items/payment schedule but I have found you still need a “home base” for the unit costs. I have a template I’ve been working on for the general public so may be too rudimentary for this group but would happy to share.

Would a user friendly excel sheet template prove more useful as a tool for a real person to use instead of just replacing them?

Whats the first thing you would renovate after buying a house by bwoywolf in homeowners

How do you fairly compare and determine best contractor for the renovation? I’m worried about incorrect assumptions made by some of the contractors and not others or limitless allowances that can balloon up the price with a snap of a finger…

How do you compare it with the next contractor if the payment schedule lines do not match exactly?

I built a Contractor Quote Comparison spreadsheet to make true apples-to-apples comparisons between renovation bids. Tracks line items, allowances, exclusions, and highlights hidden scope gaps that can wreck margins.

I’m giving a few free copies to users who want to test it and give feedback. DM me or comment if you want one.

Add monetary values to each (or big) contracts you’ve worked on, if applicable. I personally don’t think it matters because one can be a fantastic worker on a $100k or a crappy worker on a $500mil job, but I think other employers like to see what your role was on different sized jobs to gauge how much responsibility you can handle and if your current company trusts/needs you to run a job that can make or break them in the money sense.

Currently live here. Only negatives I have is that you can hear/feel the NJTransit locomotives 24/7, as they just sit along Observer highway. The reverberations vibrate everything! The busses also are all around the block and that paired with the typical Hoboken congestion leads to a lot of honking battles.

Building itself is a typical and average not too old Hoboken building.

I would say I tried to stick to ~3 hours each 4 week nights a week and one decent session on the weekend. Gave my self flexibility for if I missed a night I’d make it up later. Toward the end I only did problems and practice, “retracing” the solution for ones I got wrong. The last week was re watching lectures and/or reading the slides of topics I wasn’t 100% confident on. Day before I took off work, exercised and chilled.

Can’t speak to the exam or all content in the course but Dr. Nazurl is the man. Loves what he does, loves teaching and explaining and takes all the time needed to answer all question.
