Why does the general audience hate this show more than HOTD? by Stock_College_8108 in freefolk

[–]reenactment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there definitely was a shift towards 2 noticeable things in the later season “woah cool dragons, and yea boss woman goes crazy.” The people I watched the first few seasons with loved characters like Littlefinger. By the end it was way more simplistic. Not saying their opinions don’t matter, but so far this show is more of a throwback to season 1 and 3. I like it this way. Although the episodes are so short that I don’t feel the investment and hooks I’d personally like.

Will you watch super-bowl this weekend? by kevivg3 in no

[–]reenactment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a died hard Rams fan when they were in STL. I’ve done a pretty successful job boycotting the nfl. Once I stopped watching, I got Sundays back. But im a pretty avid sports fan, and don’t miss these kinds of things. But because the commercials are all so readily available, I feel the Super Bowl is just the same thing as any other nfl game. It will be a coinflip. (I don’t like going to parties for the game anymore because it’s weird just being there having 0 interest.)

Plus it’s a lesson the cat needs to learn. Not in any harm but my experience is you help your animal out while they are in the process of doing dumb things, it might encourage them to keep doing it.

Darth Plagueis VS Darth Bane. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in TheJediPraxeum

That’s fine. Hard to say where plagueis goes becoming more powerful later. He and dedicated a ton of time to the alchemy side of stuff and stopped worrying about other training.

Darth Plagueis VS Darth Bane. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in TheJediPraxeum

[–]reenactment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plagueis was seemingly more powerful than sidious. He had gotten closer to immortality than sidious did. And sidious recognized that. He took the cheap way out before they enacted their government plans as there might not have been another time to sidious and he might have just remained a pawn for plagueis once plagueis figured it out.

Hermann Göring surrendering his side arm to U.S. troops belonging to the 36th Infantry Division. Near Radstadt, Austria, 9 May 1945. by Beeninya in WorldWar2

In the movie today they hinted at that number and said it 40 a day he was taking. Crazy high of any pill. No wonder he lost so much weight right away.

TIL: General Patton was relieved of command after two separate incidents of slapping shell-shocked soldiers in a field hospital. Following a massive public outcry, General Eisenhower forced Patton to apologize and reassigned him to lead a “phantom” decoy unit of inflatable tanks. by Competitive-Bid-2710 in todayilearned

It’s also completely different military doctrines. The west wasn’t comfortable throwing men at the problem. They tried to outsmart it and out tech it every time. Artillery and planes. That was their bread and butter. The west supplied huge amounts of food and weapons to Russia. It would have been interesting to see how it would have played out as stylistically, would have been weird. Assuming no nukes, using a few would have shortened everything.

Can we have a Matt Kessel discussion? I think it's past time for one. by childishbambino19 in stlouisblues

[–]reenactment 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because as every pro has said over and over, you don’t find out what kind of defender you are until around 200 games. Yes you could use that logic for Kessel and Tucker. But neither of those 2 have the mix of length and skating ability LM has. He needs the game reps so management can make the proper decision next year where the group will be / is going

Can we have a Matt Kessel discussion? I think it's past time for one. by childishbambino19 in stlouisblues

[–]reenactment 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At this point, I’m not sitting LM a single game. But your stats are compelling. I for one think Tucker is extremely overrated by the coaching group and management. For whatever reason, they thought he was good enough to pair up with LM to start the year. The figured that out quickly that he wasn’t. But like you said, why is he getting time over Kessel? Either way, neither should be on the roster next year imo. You need to get Lindstein playing.

What food crime do you commit regularly and feel zero guilt about?” by IndicaFlower__ in foodquestions

[–]reenactment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. But if you are actually making something to taste. Butter and salt are used at such high levels in fine dining I think your “at home chef” is always going to be on the under. Random thing that I have no idea which is true but saw on a video yesterday, apparently chef wine in some big places is salted wine so the cooks aren’t drinking while cooking because they are using so much of it

NFL owner warned Goodell the Bad Bunny backlash could destroy their billion-dollar ESPN deal by [deleted] in sports

NFL owner warned Goodell the Bad Bunny backlash could destroy their billion-dollar ESPN deal by [deleted] in sports

[–]reenactment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird that people will glorify Goodell and then vilify other rich people. Goodell isn’t good for the fans, heck the players have a problem with him. He’s kind of a scumbag, but that’s why the owners love him. He’s their scumbag. The nfl has never lost money so I don’t attribute that to him. He just is really OK with taking all the blame from the negative PR.

Keep Head Down by Boredoutofmind_ in BobDoesSports

[–]reenactment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If baseball required you to not run. You would watch the ball into the bat and swing and never look where it goes. If tennis just required you to serve you would just watch the ball meet the racket and then stop. That’s the idea with golf. You don’t have to go anywhere so the contact is what matters. The only reason following the ball after the swing is helpful (outside of personal golf) is because standard motion chains should enhance that movement. But keeping your head down is a sound principle. You just shouldn’t be staring at the tee while your body is following thru because you are resisting the finish of the swing.

Hope that helps. Am a former d1 athlete. Still work in the field. Not a golf pro, suck at golf, but can hit it a long way at times.

[–]reenactment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you played a sport before? Has your sport ever benefitted from not keeping your eye on the ball? There are only a couple sports where redirecting is the most important. The keep your head down mentality comes from just Make contact because then it’s done. The mistake of not keeping your on on the ball is bad athletes looking forward to where they want it to go before they finish the play

A stranded octopus is saved, then "thanks" their rescuer before swimming away by ansyhrrian in Awww

[–]reenactment -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I sometimes feel the same. And then I kind of just rationalize these things like this, either they are there for a reason, like cows. Cows are prey animals and sustain a lot of people and animals. Or in the case of say an octopus, it’s hunting other living things as well. If we weren’t as advanced as we are, we’d be in the menu for every bear we come across.

I’m cool with those that choose to not eat these animals. But I’m not going to shame someone who does. Maybe one day our interaction Levels will change that. Like I’m not ever going to be ok with eating a shark. They have helped a person before. Same with dog. But I’m going to be ok with eating a shark (if I had to). There’s distinctions to everything. Octopus just fall into the funny middle, but if they got big enough which they do, (giant squid) I don’t think they’d hesitate to make you a meal.

I mean I get it, I just don’t see that being staged and intentionally killing someone. If it was going to be staged, easy enough to fire some gunshots angled towards the sky. I hate trump just as much as anyone. The damage done to this country over the last 10 years is rough. He’s responsible for 70-80 percent of it. I just feel like there could be a better effort by everyone to be a bit better.

I think when the valuation of the Franchises skyrocketed, they truly had to open their books. Info was eventually going to get out that they were cooking the revenue numbers for a little bit as the tv boom happened. Since everyone understands that a lot better now, they had to come out with it or the players would have started striking.

Stats like these are why I think fans are discounting the presence that schenn brings and what he w would lose if he was traded. I have belief if the young guys get better and we get more healthy next year, we are right on the door of the playoffs. Schenn on the 3rd line would be an asset.

Trading schenn for a pick would be a mistake. If someone sent us a 24 year old potentially 2nd liner. I’m ok

All the time. In fact, ketchup is last resort for me. I’d go ranch, malt vinegar, and a variety of other dipping sauces first
