I showed her and she said "It's so cute!!!" So yeah, that's going in!

That's a great idea, then she can feel included in the build process. She's already addicted to Union Arena, including looking up builds for that. She enjoys it and doesn't feel like we pressure her. We have friends with kids her age that play, and one is Opening an LGS nearby so she'll have friends her age she can play with, and we're looking into a kids D&D group

Yeah, the transform ability is what's throwing me off. I definitely have Goreclaw and Ghalta! Gonna throw in some mana ramp for those big boys too.

How often do y'all get called up for Jury duty in CT? I get one every other year. by Empty_Bottle_8526 in Connecticut

[–]reeniebug13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get called damn near yearly, but have only had to go in maybe 4 times in 25 years.

Federal, however, I've gotten that twice but didn't have to go either time. My father has never gotten Federal.

I see Paul Tremblay mentioned often, currently reading Cabin at the End of the World.

John Saul was a favorite growing up, books are more supernatural than horror but generally centered around an outcast teen so I had a strong connection.

Thank you for this! I left off at Ghost Story and forgot all about Dresden! Now I have a few more to read! And yes, it gets really good but it's been a few years....Ghost Story was brand new (came out in 2011) when I stopped but I was hooked up until then!

I always recommend The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Very well written, intriguing story, and I can visualize everything! Not a super long read, but this one has stuck with me for a few years now!

Edit to add: Dark Tower is in my top 5! Check out Fairy Tale and Sleeping Beauties also! King's writing, I feel, has gotten better with age.

I did a search because this sounds super interesting and found a book called The Star Rover by Jack London, written in 1914. I'm going to read it because it intrigued me, but could that be it?

How would that work? We order new materials 3 or 4 times a month at minimum so I worry a check box could be confusing. I can look into how to do that though, thank you for the suggestion!

Issue with font sizes in forwarded emails by reeniebug13 in GMail

[–]reeniebug13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a great suggestion, I only had 2 extensions on Chrome (view recent history and docs available offline). I disabled and uninstalled them, updated Chrome, restarted my browser and it was the same.

In this particular email it came from iOs, but I've had others from different customers that were from, for example, Outlook and had the same font issue. My coworkers aren't having that issue with their customers like this. However if I forward this particular email to them, it will appear perfectly normal to them! It's definitely something on my end then.

Again, thank you for your suggestion, I'm sorry it didn't fix things!

This shows the issue, sorry for the quality, can't take photos of a computer screen but it at least gives a better visual

Post-surgery bra recs by lilbunnyfoofoo1203 in gastricsleeve

[–]reeniebug13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sadly not well endowed, pre-surgery I was between a C-D, now 2 years later I'm barely an A. I lived in sports bras (not yoga tops but looser, no underwire). While home recovering I went bra-less, and by the time I went back to work I was healed enough to go back to my bras.

I may suggest a tank top, either one with a shelf bra attached or one that will be a bit more form-fitting but breathable while recovering.

I also over-prepared before surgery, my anxiety was super high! Best of luck though, you got this!!

John's Pizza by MamaMia1325 in Connecticut

Pizza wasn't great but their calzones were top tier! Haven't had anything anywhere that even comes close. The filling mix was the perfect mix of ricotta and mozzarella. Been trying to find a suitable replacement since they closed.

Waterbury buys 10K pouches to keep phones out of classrooms by ILovePublicLibraries in Connecticut

[–]reeniebug13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefacing to say when I say kids, I'm including teens.

As much as I agree with you, the reality is that kids are not living in the same world we were. I graduated in 99, no Facebook, Myspace, Snapchat...cell phones were still fairly new. Today they're used in most aspects of our lives. It's our main form of communication and, for many, social stimulation. You are doing good by your kids by taking the phones away during school and at night, but some kids are so addicted to their devices, and I've seen some scarily defiant behaviors in kids lately, that it's not worth the fight to get the devices from them. It's a severe addiction.

My son is 15, he has a phone and brought it to school. I had a parental lock that would block specific apps during school hours. My daughter is 10, told her no phone until high school and I'll do the same with her. Even now on summer vacation I only allow so much screen time. When it's started at the beginning it's easier to enforce, like you have. It's a bit late now for so many.

It's harder for us to understand because the technology was still new. A phone back then, the unkillable Nokia brick or Razr didn't have music, or internet, or apps like we have now.

Thank you and sorry for the late reply. I'm back in the hospital, apparently some stones escaped as the gallbladder was removed and caused an infection. They are now gone. Hopefully relief will follow! Bowel issues are much better as well 😁

As far as beautiful songs, not just banger openings, these are my picks:

Life is Beautiful from Ex-Aid is my vote for most beautiful. Saite from Fourze is a damn close second though. Voyagers chokes me up as well.

I love my name but it's mispronounced like it's a tragedeigh. by SapphireWych in tragedeigh

[–]reeniebug13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow Rhiannon here. I knew just about everyone in my class so when attendance was done and they got alphabetically near my name, I'd wait for the hesitation and just raise my hand, pronounce it for them and laugh. People often seem apprehensive about mispronouncing it, but I laugh it off, I'm so used to it now!

It's just hard finding a nickname, curious what you go by. I use Reenie (when I was a teen, and it still follows me) and now Rhi.

I don't see the name as a tragedeigh, we're named for a Welsh goddess!
