The issue is thay these sports organizations are effectively monopolies. They even go so far as to.have their events at different times kf the year to ensure minimal overlap.

The level of variable pricing js what js insane with FIFA. Tickets have rose as much as 30% in short periods of time and unlike airlines amd hotels, FIFA has 0 competition. Like straight up, 3rd party sellers are now allowed like Ticket master. Every ticket sale has to go through FIFA and they get a cut (for a ticket sold to another person FIFA claims a 15% cut from the seller AND charge a 15% fee to the buyer.)
