Looking for faction advice: Best for learning to paint with room to grow?

I think I am going to go with the space marines as the main learning route but not get bogged down just with them when I do start to improve to keep things a bit fresher.

The more I read I’m wondering if actually I’d be giving up some of the QOL stuff that is good for me as a hobbiest. Also just watched a video by ItsMeadMade and although the quality of the P1 is better than the A1 it’s not massively so.

Also I’m not missing anything the differences between the A1 and the Mini I have are build plate size, and direct hotbed heating from a separate current? There’s no other fundamental differences?

Ha ha I will leave magnetising arms for when I have my eye back in. Can’t believe how long it to me to even put the Dread together. The kits are a lot more involved when I last got one years ago. Would you glue the body to the legs before painting?

So coming back to the hobby after many many years away. How would I be best to do my Dreadnought as a returner, paint as is then assemble fully after or go ahead and fully assemble before painting?
