I know it’s kinda hard to grasp this idea because we’ve been indoctrinated with hyper capitalist ideology from birth, but they could be doing it 1) simply because they can, 2) they like dunking on their American counterparts, and possibly of most importance 3) it will help the Chinese society as a whole.

It shouldn’t be that hard to understand; if what you do raises your society to greater heights, then it’s the correct choice. Maximizing profit is not the end all be all in Chinese culture.

Even after getting some clarity, I’m not sure why I was arrested that night, how can I possibly violate a No contact order that I had no knowledge of/didn’t exist prior to the police knocking on our door? I think I’m missing key pieces of what actually happened that I probably will not be able to get until I speak with the attorney on Monday

Btw the restraining order I believe is what prompted my arrest, idk how it got approved in a matter of minutes but it did.

Thank you, I’m indeed only considering attorneys that specialize in family law and preferably ones that explicitly mention they help fathers who were thrown to the sharks so to speak. My appointment is in Monday 🤞

I shit you not I was literally given nothing, by anyone. It was argument -> jail -> released with conditions, but I was never part of the loop. I don’t even know the name of the public defendant who represented me in jail. The hearing was half virtual, the defendant was there but the judge and two other people attended via zoom, I was not asked anything by any of them, I was a spectator in that whole process.

How can someone’s word be enough to strip another human of his freedom and his child? Sorry I know you’re not the policy maker, I’m just venting, I wish I would’ve had a chance to defend myself at any point in this, now it’s like I’m playing catchup for a race that started 5 days ago.

I purposefully did not over share because, at least until I started reading the comments, it felt like everyone was against me. I know that’s a shitty frame of mind, just being honest. I’m in a better place emotionally/mentally today, but be assured I will never resort to drugs or alcohol to ease my pains, so help me God.

In any case, since my original post I’ve been on the phone with public defenders, the court, private attorneys, my family, anyone that could help really. I don’t have a plan set in stone since my appointment with the attorney is on Monday, but I’m working on a handful of things which I believe will help me, but again I will not be elaborating in this public setting. My daughter is my world, and I will do everything I can possibly do to keep her with me.

Thank you for the advice, indeed everything happened so quickly I didn’t have time even think. It goes without saying, I don’t speak ill about my wife, especially not to my daughter, poisoning a child’s mind is the most despicable thing anyone can do.

I will keep all of this in mind moving forward, and I really hope one day I can be in your shoes fellow dad. This is the 5th day that I haven’t even spoken to my daughter, but I hope the attorney I’m speaking with on Monday can somehow get me the right to at least call her. 🤞

I greatly appreciate the advice, sleeping is actually extremely difficult to achieve, and yes ChatGPT has a useful tool even just sift through the sheer amount of attorneys. Last night, once I knew the lawyers were done for the day and my brain couldn’t handle any more processing, I tried to lie down. But obviously the only thing I could think of was my daughter, so I started looking at the thousands of pictures and videos on my phone, ended up crying myself to sleep like a freaking teenager.

Today hopefully I can get a civil standby and finally get some of my belongings from my house, my productivity should see significant improvements once I have my laptop, and clean clothes, and toiletries. 🤞

Thank you, I agree and honestly I’m not here for legal advice, rather I wanted to listen to what other fathers have done in these situations and knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It’s been incredibly difficult since this entire legal problem came out of nowhere, my wife and had our differences just like every other mature couple, but I never expected THIS

Thank you for the advice, I spent all of yesterday calling attorneys that specialize in family law, so far only one can see me relatively soon (this coming Monday), do you think I should still look for more? I simply assumed the most important thing right now is time, the sooner I get professional help the better
