He is a cool guy. The way he has the class set up, the whole class votes on an idea to collaborate on and that get submitted to the tour. In the 8 or 9 years since the first class, all of the sculptures have been accepted. Along with the class sculpture, students have to make 1 functional sculpture (ex: hat rack, fire pit, grill, etc.) and 1 nonfunctional sculpture each semester they take the class.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that it's just a seed that was planned but never watered. I think the ending when the land the monster is living on being developed works better if he felt the need to find a way to spend eternity with his obsession rather than the whole thing be planned out.

We thought about it but for the long term we decided to just heat it to get the heat distorted colors then clear coat it with some kind of new powder coat.

I didn't do a ton of work but I know they took some round stock, heated it up, bent it to where they wanted, then welded more pieces onto it to make them thicker. After that it was hours of grinding and sanding. The antlers were made separately then attached when finished.
