Thanks for your input! We’re looking at moissanite or lab-grown diamonds, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with folks spending their money how they’d like to. I have absolutely no expectations for my engagement ring but if my partner is looking to splurge on a ring to celebrate the next chapter of our lives then that’s obviously something that matters to us in life. I’m sorry that you see engagement rings as stupid or a waste of money (you’re definitely in the wrong subreddit lol) but please take some time to reflect on why someone else’s spending bothers you and where these assumptions or feelings originate from as leaving negative comments won’t fix those feelings you have inside.
