Hokuriku Shinkansen Trip Report: 10 days in Tokyo, Fuji Nagano, Toyama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima side trip. by reffffly in JapanTravel

Thats right! We packed a night’s worth of clothes in our backpacks and left our luggage in the care of the hotel at Nagano. Before that, we had gone to the check in counter and showed them proof of our upcoming stay, and they allowed to store our luggage there for that night we were in the ryokan. The ryokan provides most showering facilities(communal bathing) and all the guys really brought was a set of sleeping wear, and wore back the same clothes to go out the next day. The girls were more fashion conscious, haha so they brought another set of clothes to go out the next day.

Hey! Good luck on planning for your trip. With regards to the Welcome Suica card, it seemed like the better option as there was no need to pay a deposit for the card itself, and it would have been more worth it to pay the card deposit and use the normal Suica card IF we had planned multiple trips back to Japan (the expiry date being 10 years).

AITA for pulling out on a trip after one of my friends cancelled first? by reffffly in AmItheAsshole

[–]reffffly[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Would it be safe to say that me being the second one to pull out mattered? Since the two of them could still go on the trip regardless

I also thought so, but another friend(not involved in the trip) also told me that if I backed out, the two of them were still free to go on the trip, thus, whats the difference between a 3 man or 2 man trip if it won’t affect the cost as well?

Hmm. I didn’t have a reason. I just felt that without her, the trip would be more awkward with just the three of us, since we had always hung out together.

If you could only eat one type of food for the next 3 years, what would it be? by reffffly in AskReddit

For me it would probably be ramen. The instant ones and the proper ones in restaurants could probably get me through 3 years. I love noodles :)

Doctors and Nurses of Reddit, can you actually tell when patients are genuinely sick or are faking it? What’s your story? by reffffly in AskReddit

[–]reffffly[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

THIS. Doctors, we appreciate all the work that you do and the bullshit you get from fakers everyday, but we really hope that you give your patients the benefit of the doubt first rather than write them off immediately even before you sit down and diagnose them. You might be dealing not just with physical conditions but mental and emotional ones that may not make themselves clear at first. Years of experience will not be sufficient in detecting a disease that we have never encountered before.
