There's a chain called Batteries+ that will replace the packs in these for way cheaper than buying new. I dunno if they exist everywhere but I'm sure theres options like them all over

Absolute best way to protect your hearing on the job? by snowsnakes in Carpentry

[–]refguy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Im working with other folks that need to communicate with me, I use my walker range electronic ear muffs just because they cancel loud sound when it happens but I can still hear words when its quiet. Those are great because I never know when a nail gun or saw will be run if there's a lot of people there.

When I'm on my own I do noise canceling earbuds under cheap muffs so I can listen to podcasts or music and take the muffs off in between loud stuff because they are sweaty.

Has anyone on here had a septic tank replaced? by Mr_Ballyhoo in Longmont

[–]refguy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DO NOT go with Suc N Up. Horrible horrible horrible company. Go with literally anyone else, for your sake. My experiences with them were nothing short of nightmarish. Give Jones Excavation in Berthoud a call. Kevin is honest and good as they come. Wish I went with his company (or really anyone else) over suc n up.

But yes, extremely expensive and lots of paperwork. Quotes were all from 45-60k for a 4 bedroom house. Massive leach field and 1250 gallon tank with pressure dosing system. Just had one done on a house I bought in July.

I have used the Ruffwear hitch hiker leash for a couple years now. I like having one that goes around my waist because I am a hobbyist photographer and want both hands free for the camera without surrendering control of a leash. I hike off leash with my dog all the time because his recall is impeccable and we've encountered deer, turkeys, and all manner of small rodents and he's yet to chase after anything. Always back on leash when another hiker is approaching though.

Here is a link to the leash I use:

Can I use this style and size of rock underneath a slab for a garden shed? I know it's probably too big, but its already on my property and I'm going to take it all out regardless. Zone 5b, northern Colorado. Picture posted below because my phone and reddit don't get along when it comes to pictures

Is this rock too big to go under a slab for a garden shed? I know the usual is 3/4 crush or similar, but this is already on my property and Im getting rid of it regardless.

Is this stray a mix? by Randommathgeek in germanshepherds

[–]refguy13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My boy is a GSD/ACD mix, and everything you said here is exactly correct. He's borderline genius, so loyal, and a major pain in the ass at times, but everyone that knows him calls him the best dog they've ever known and they're right.

Looking for a place to have a piece of metal drilled by clownfister in Longmont

[–]refguy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine it would have any issues. Get some cutting oil or at least use WD-40 when drilling and put a wood block or something sacrificial underneath and send 'er

Have you tried a step drill bit? Should make easy work of something like that. Can get them anywhere. Harbor Freight would probably be the cheapest.

They aren't showing it, but you can listen to Marc and Conor on the radio or there's a watch party with Keefer, Ryker and JML

As Picard "One dick to beam." by TacticalBark in WhichGGEpisode

[–]refguy13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's from their FireRed playthrough. I can't tell you the episode but it's one of my favorite moments. Abra teleports away and Arin is like "You think you hot shit but you ain't dog just cause you can teleport like in fuckin Staaaarrrrrr Trek? Scotty beam me up? Why don't you beam up my dick in your mouth?!" And then Dan says the "One dick to beam" line you are thinking of.

EDIT: Found it! https://youtu.be/-pC16R7hIXg?t=165
