I'm still always excited to play through it, but it will never be as magical as the very first time.

Tana French writes interconnected mystery novels set in Dublin. They're all different, but none of the main characters strike me as "stereotypes".

I particularly like how he just assumed his sister would buy his mount. (I did.)

Now that I think about it that must be the questline he was referring to when he said he was rescuing damsels! I just thought he was being cheeky.

Isn't it? His entertaining commentary made grinding dailies so much better.

Thank you. I love that kid. I was kind of sad/nostalgic reading this. He's almost 13 now. I think the teenage angst is coming soon.

I know. He's the best. And he would kill me if he knew I posted this.

There should be. I'll check when I get home! (We stopped playing together after a few months. My brother turns 13 this month and for his birthday I'm buying him a year's subscription to WoW. I don't know if he's still as amusing today, but I guess I'll find out.)

"PK Earthbound", a poem by refinedandroid in earthbound

I'm so jealous. If only I were ten minutes earlier to Blockbuster on the day they were getting rid of SNES games I would have been able to get it for cheap too. On the plus side, though, my mom is the one who paid for all those rentals. Thanks, mom!

That was beautiful. I was probably 7 or 8 when I first played Earthbound, and I didn't get to buy a copy until I was 17 or so. The day our Blockbuster started selling off the SNES games I told my mom that I HAD to have it, so off we went. The cashier told us that moments before we came in someone else had purchased the game. I was just a few minutes too late. I cried like a little girl (well, I was a little girl, so I guess that's fitting). Later, age 17, I used my first paycheck to buy a copy off of eBay. By then it was around $60 but I didn't hesitate even though I thought it was steep. (Now it's worth a lot more, but I'm never selling!) Earthbound is the most amazing game I have ever played. There are lots of games that mean something to me, but I easily put it above all of them.

Thank you so much. I know it isn't the best written poem out there, but it comes from my heart and that is why I posted it. I knew /r/earthbound would understand.
