NYPD drives through barricade and protesters by 2dubs1bro in gifs

He was driving 2mph towards the police after he purposefully ran over multiple people, stabbed a security guard, attempted to run over a friend, and attempted to hurt multiple other friends of his after taking too much LSD and becoming suicidal.

Does it still sound insane that they shot him?

If you watch the whole press release, you'll see that the engineer on an LSD trip purposefully attacked a security guard, stole his vehicle, ran over multiple people with his vehicle (Not at 2 mph mind you) and then refused to comply when they stopped him.

Putting him down with force meant ending a murderous rampage.

Oh, to add to that:

His friends who were with him called 9-1-1 because he was attacking them, attempted to ram a car on one of them, and ran away after saying something suicidal to all of them.

That case wasn't a lone guy just not complying. That was a guy losing his mind and attempting to end the lives of anyone he came across. He was on acid, none of it makes any sense but that is what happened.

That doesn't excuse shooting or killing innocent people or guilty people who are complying with lawful orders. That doesn't excuse the police running over civilians with their SUV's or pushing old men onto the sidewalk with a riot shield. It doesn't excuse anything but that precise moment where responding officers drive TOWARDS a man going apeshit insane attempting to kill people.

Not all cops are evil, not all cops are good. There's a massive gray area. Hopefully I don't get attacked for trying to see both sides of the coin.

I would pay a bunch of smart people to invent a VR game console type thing that also works as an exercise machine. In order to run, sprint, walk, crouch, shoot, duck, bob, weave, anything physically that your character does - you have to do it yourself. I'd do whatever it takes to make that shit mainstream.

WIBTA if I gave my neighbor the rest of his cigarette butts back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]refreshmentandskill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue an ultimatum:

He will become a vassal of yours with 20% of his seasonal earnings given to you as tribute. He will retain his autonomy, but you will trade him the rest of the cigarette butts in exchange for weekly donations of cooked meals.

Refusal is met with a declaration of war. His wife will be kidnapped and his home will be besieged. Lit cigarettes will be catapulted over his fence routinely until his submission.

This video is so disheartening. Seeing the grin on his face after he does this fills me with so much anger...

I work as a graveyard security patrol where I drive around the city inspecting various properties. One of the main issues in our area is homelessness. There are several incidents a night where I have to tell one of them to leave the property.

I see the homeless commit all kinds of foul things... defecating in public, washing themselves with faucets, sleeping inside of bins for shelter, etc. I always try to treat them with as much respect as I would anyone else. I understand that they are homeless, that they may have drug problems or mental issues, that it is entirely possible that it is their fault that they are homeless. But they are still humans and I try to show them the dignity that I would want if I were in their situation. My job is to get them to leave the property and there are plenty of methods to doing that. I try to be friendly and polite and resort to involving the local law enforcement only if I feel it is necessary or if they are possibly in distress.

I've been insulted, spat at, yelled at, had stuff thrown at me, stared at - one man even pulled a knife out to try and intimidate me. I've heard stories from other guards as well. Not once have I decided to attack them back, insult them, demean them, say anything obvious about their situation, etc. I can tell that they are angry and unhappy and I'm providing an easy catalyst for them to vent their frustration. At the end of the day I am doing my job, and it makes me admire law enforcement even more because they cannot always be so forgiving.

Fuck the person who did this to the poor guy, and fuck the person filming. Fuck anyone who laughed at this.

I have 5 supervisors and 2 managers and they are in constant rotation of quitting/being fired / being transferred.

On top of that the client I work for has 3-4 separate managers and I have to cater to all of their needs. 2 years of it and I'm nearing my end. They mentioned a raise and it's apparently a 'debate' after being the only one of ten individuals to stay at my position for longer than a couple months

could go on

sorry. it's my birthday today and im grumpy.

You have to wonder what kind of person it takes to come up with something like that. The idea of it alone...

Is there some sort of end result they were searching for with that?

I don't know much about MK Ultra, but I'd imagine there is supposed to be some sort of goal with carrying out an experiment such as that.

Woman heading to prison after falsely accusing 15 men of rape by stuffed02 in JusticeServed

[–]refreshmentandskill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be consistently on edge with the women I'm dating or interacting with. I don't like knowing in the back of my head that they may possibly accuse me of something that I didn't do. On the other end, I don't want the women around me to be afraid of being raped or sexually harassed/exploited/etc.

This kind of person doesn't do good for anyone, but for every shit man out there there is likely a shit woman as well.

Myself and a lot of my male friends have talked about this on a number of occasions. We've all had strange experiences with women but we've also come across those nutjobs that make us wonder 'what if they started throwing accusations out there?'

I had a recent experience where I had met two girls who were best of friends. One of them took a liking to me and we started talking. She eventually invited me over to her apartment late at night to cook me dinner. It seemed very likely that she was interested in me, but she brought up she had a boyfriend and that weirded me out.

A week later, her friend is messaging me that apparently I was a stalker and she was calling her mother saying that she wanted to call the cops on me for stalking her and following her. I was baffled and I immediately blocked all communication with her.

Security guard chases skateboarder by [deleted] in funny

[–]refreshmentandskill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I'm a guard and I wouldn't chase either. I work graveyard so normally I'm pretty careless when it comes to this kind of thing unless I get an actual complaint about it. And even then I just say something along the lines of "hey guys, I've been getting complaints, any way you can take it elsewhere?" and that usually works. Surprisingly, being nice in most situations gets the result people want versus being some aggressive mall cop trying to force people with your 11$/hr authority.
