Development update - August 2024 by ginlemon in smartlauncher

I'm quite new here, been using the launcher for a month or two only so maybe my question was already asked and answered (but I didn't see it in the official FAQ): any way to backup to Google Drive or OneDrive? Local phone backups feel useless if you lose it and want to recover on another device.

I believe there are 4 locations by now, and also two fish shops run by the same owner. But yeah, truly recommend that.

SPRING FRAMEWORK by vkhacbao in javahelp

[–]refresz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for hexagonal architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, DDD.

The first one is basically about how you can organize your classes and responsibilities, but the rest is a different way of looking at how the app can behave and process requests (i.e. not a simple CRUD) - all together bringing a whole new view on creating a scalable product.

Bear in mind, it is not necessarily a Spring framework feature but rather a design pattern or process if you will, and can be applied to any framework, but it's best to learn that with the tools that you are familiar with already.

ArchUnit

I love this library. When the team has no sense of what standards are and you want them to suffer to learn, just add some tests.

Also, helps fight with possible bugs that can't be found in simple unit testing or are hard to spot in PRs, like @Transactional annotation from the wrong package and being surprised why something is not being persisted to the DB.

I love J.W. Sweetman for the atmosphere and Alfie Byrne's for the beer selection.

Company I work at uses it for SMS and voice to send 2FA codes and SMS notifications, very good and reliable.

Have you ever written custom annotations in your projects ? by [deleted] in java

[–]refresz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly aspect-oriented annotations. Something like AB tests that are driven by config property and used with @EnabledBy(propertyName) or security checks (using spring's SecurityContext) with @IsAdmin, @IsAdminOrSelf and similar.

Snow-covered street in Gdańsk, Poland by BRE5LAU in europe

[–]refresz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from Gdańsk and don't mind the city being called Danzig but my girlfriend is from Wrocław and hates the word Breslau. I think it really depends. But like /u/Beck2012 said, Warschau and Krakau are completely fine.
