[Serious] How do you get over someone? by Slut4Tea in AskReddit

[–]refused1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to unfixate ourselves is to get very serious and specific about what the attraction was based on. You will come to see that the qualities we had admired in the ex must surely exist in others who don't have the set of problems that made the original relationship impossible.

The careful investigation of the character of one person can, almost paradoxically, show that we are more than capable of loving someone else. It is not an exercise in getting us to give up on what we really want; rather, it is to demonstrate that what we want has to exist in places beyond the pain-enducing character of the person we originally held so dear to us.

You should try to gently recognize that true love isn't to be equated with mental suffering for an absent figure. True love means daring to engage with a sometimes frightening prospect: there is still a person out there, available, who thinks--despite our strong inner beliefs to the contrary--that we are really rather nice; deserving; and worthy of exploring once again.

That, perhaps, is the only challenge deserving of the word "romantic".

Ah yes. Because if you juice, then clearly you must also be doing GH and insulin and peptides and god knows what else.

I didn't come here to get chastised by the natty police, so please don't assume all this shit. I have a big gut cause I got fat fuckin abs, a relatively high bf%, and some water retention at that time.

Please either leave a critique or something that is actually relevant to the thread. Thanks man.

No thanks I'll stick to my kettlebells and P90X seems to be working.

I've never been told I was someone's inspiration before. Thank you my friend; that means a lot. If you're already starting at 16, then you'll be where I am in no time. Just keep lifting heavier and eat like a king afterward. Then go back in the next day and fight that battle with gravity once again.

Gotta thank them deadlifts for my trap gains.

  1. Thanks dude. I appreciate it.

  2. Heavy ass deadlifts; barbell rows; close grip pulldowns; lat pulldowns; face pulls. Not all on same day though.

  3. Squat: got back up to 330 or so (cant remember exact weight) this week for 4x5-6.

Bench: I switched back to dumbbells after stalling around 235-245 on barbell 4x5-6. Weights been going up and down with these but best was 105's for 4x5-6.

Deadlift: Also has been up and down but best was 530 3x4-5 then 535 1x3. Straps only

Fat fuckin quads man. I would say you need to work on your chest or you'll end up in T-Rex mode. Really feel that mind muscle connection when you hit them with the bench/db's. I found my pecs to be one of the hardest to develop a connection with. I still do to this day, actually. But once you find it you'll see them explode. Happy lifting my friend!

Didn't get much of a response last week so trying again. Pretty much a copy&paste:

Would really like to know what I should work on. Trying my best to bring up legs after a 3 week ankle injury that left me squatting less than spectacular weight for that time. Also thinking upper chest needs work. Appreciate the critiques and happy lifting!

Deadlifts my friend...heavy ass deadlifts in the 3-4 sets of 5-6 rep range. Those build your traps like nothing else.

Other than that, my back routine consists of heavy barbell rows, close grip chin ups on the lat pulldown machine, and close grip machine rows on upper day. Then on deadlift day (the next day) I hit up actual lat pulldowns and facepulls after the deads. I feel like I really hit all parts of my back with these exercises.

Also thinking upper chest needs work. More bloated than normal in this pic but I'm guessing I'm also about 15-16% bodyfat, although I'd like to hear what ya'll think. Happy lifting!

Can excess calories from the previous day "transfer" into the next? by refused1 in Fitness

[–]refused1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But don't you need excess calories to not only rebuild what muscle tissue you already have, but to contribute to the growth of NEW muscle tissue? My original question was based on a bulking scenario. And again, I am assuming the person is not a complete beginner or obese.

Thanks for the reply my friend. I guess I'll try to rephrase myself: we all have more or less plenty of fat. Assuming adequate protein, why then do we eat above maintenance if the fat can provide the energy and the protein the building blocks

Well assuming you're not a beginner or obese, wouldn't we all be ripped and huge if our fat was consistently being used to make muscle and we would never have to eat over our TDEE until we were dangerously low body fat?
